The anniversary celebration in Borderlands 3 is continuing this week, and the new theme is the Rare Spawn Hunt. From October 8-15, you’ll have a much easier time finding rare spawns, and you’ll get a better chance of scoring unqiue Legendary weapons and loot from taking them down.

You may have seen rare spawns around the universe in Borderlands, but they appear sporadically. During the event week, they’ll be guaranteed to appear in their designated locations, and their chance of dropping Legendary loot is increased. That gives you a much better chance to score some rare drops, and in the announcement Gearbox also provided the names and loot drops for each. You can find that listing below.

There will be a quick “micropatch” to usher in the Rare Spawn Hunt, and Gearbox recommends verifying that you’re online in the main menu and then giving it a few moments before starting up your game. The event will last from October 8 at 9 AM PT to October 15 at 8:59 AM PT.

The remaining three weeks in the anniversary celebration are called Show Me The Eridium, Mayhem on Twitch, and Spooky Surprise. The last week would appear to be the introduction of the free Bloody Harvest DLC, but there may be other Halloween themed events coming as well.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is this week’s big new release, but the Ubisoft shooter is unable to usurp FIFA 20 at the top of the UK physical sales chart for the week ending October 5. EA’s sports behemoth finishes at No.1 once again, meaning Breakpoint is forced to settle for a No.2 debut.

Much of the chart remains unchanged, with Borderlands 3 and Gears 5 remaining at No.3 and No.4, respectively, while The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening slips from No.2 last week to No.5 this. Aside from Ghost Recon, the only new release is Ghostbusters The Video Game: Remastered, which launches at No.6.

Breakpoint has experienced a somewhat negative critical reception since its launch, including a 4/10 in GameSpot’s verdict. “There’s some surprising fun to be had stealthily infiltrating enemy compounds and playing with friends, but Breakpoint is still a generic and distinctly sub-par game,” wrote our critic, Richard Wakeling. “It’s essentially every Ubisoft open-world game rolled into one, failing to excel in any one area or establish its own identity. FL4K’s ammo-returning Leave No Trace skill now has a cooldown.

The lawsuit between Borderlands developer Gearbox Software’s CEO Randy Pitchford and former company lawyer Wade Callender has come to an end. Both sides have “resolved all claims between them.”

A joint statement filed in 162nd Judicial District of Dallas, Texas confirms that Randy Pitchford has been “exonerated” from the claims against him. The two sides reportedly apologized, while “all misunderstandings between the parties have been corrected.”

The document asks the Court to dismiss the case “with prejudice,” which means it cannot be revisited at a later date.

“Upon review of all the evidence in the case, it was of the opinion of counsel that the evidence exonerated Randy Pitchford from the allegations against him; all misunderstandings between the parties have been corrected, and apologies were exchanged,” reads a line from the statement. “Because the parties are mutually bound by confidentiality, no additional statements will be forthcoming.”

This seemingly brings about an end to a bitter, drawn out legal battle between Pitchford and Callender. Gearbox sued Callender for fraud, and Callender fired back with his own lawsuit containing numerous and significant claims. Callender alleged that Pitchford awarded himself a secret bonus of $18 million that Callender claims should have gone into a pool spread between developers. Callender also claimed that Pitchford accidentally left a USB drive at a Medieval Times restaurant that he says contained secret company documents and videos of “underage” pornography and that Pitchford held parties at his home where “adult men reportedly exposed themselves to minors.” Gearbox has consistently denied this and other claims.

While this lawsuit may have come to an end, Pitchford has been a focal point of other controversies as well. Another former employee, David Eddings, explained why he won’t be resuming his role as Claptrap for Borderlands 3. That led to a testy exchange with Pitchford until Eddings ultimately alleged that Pitchford had physically assaulted him at GDC 2017, and subsequently stalked him on social media.

Gearbox’s latest release, Borderlands 3, launched in September and sold 5 million copies in 5 days to set a new franchise sales record.
