Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream | PS4

Today, we announced a new chapter in their heart-warming Atelier series: Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream. The latest entry in the series follows the beloved alchemist, Sophie Neuenmuller, shortly after her adventures in 2016’s Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book.

Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream continues the story of Sophie and Plachta’s many adventures. After leaving Sophie’s hometown of Kirchen Bell, the pair discovers a huge tree identical to one that Plachta had seen in a dream, and as they get closer, a mysterious vortex pulls them inside. Sophie awakens alone in a curious new world called Erde Wiege, and it’s not long before she hears about an alchemist named Plachta that lives on the outskirts of town. Shockingly, when Sophie arrives at the atelier, she meets a young alchemy enthusiast named Plachta, and even though the alchemist shares the same name as her friend, she doesn’t recognize Sophie. What other surprises await Sophie on this journey? As the adventure continues, Sophie meets aspiring alchemist, Ramizel Erlenmeyer, who willingly agrees to help her in her time of need. The narrative elegantly unfolds with a charming new visual style that combines the art of the Mysterious sub-series with the high-quality graphics and animations featured in 2021’s Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy.

BLUE REFLECTION: Second Light follows the adventures of three students – Ao Hoshizaki, Kokoro Utsubo, and Yuki Kinjou – who find themselves transported to a mysterious floating academy, searching for clues to find their way back home, with only their names as memories. One day, a strange new space spreads across the outskirts of the academy. Since the new land surrounds the world the heroines inhabit, they refer to it as “the heart of the world” and name the unexplained new area Heartscape.

Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey DX introduces four new vehicles with various features to Firis’ adventure, as well as quests to defeat seven new monsters. If players manage to defeat these seven monsters, they will have a chance to challenge the incredibly challenging foe, Palmyra!

Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings DX features a new painting that allows players to enter the world of 2019’s Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists, which can be unlocked through collecting the fragments of mysterious paintings during their adventure. After meeting Lady Nelke, several scenarios and boss quests become available to help develop the town of Westwald, offering a powerful new challenge for the alchemist twins.

The three games: Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book DX, Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey DX, and Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings DX, will come packed with a large amount of the previously released DLC for the titles, as well as all-new content for the DX versions — including a special digital artbook, photo modes, and the option to speed-up battles. The Atelier Mysterious Trilogy will be available for purchase as individual titles or together in a specially priced Deluxe Pack containing all three games.

Adding to the fun and adventure, Ryza now has all new dynamic abilities to help her navigate across the deadly terrain, including the ability to swim underwater, use plants to climb walls, and even swing on a magical rope! These and other abilities allow Ryza to explore various areas and ruins more fully and actively. In addition, the thrilling real-time tactics battle system has been powered up to include up to four members (three main party members plus one sub-member), with characters able to link multiple skills and items in a row to defeat even the deadliest of enemies thanks to the new Skill Chain and Item Rush techniques!

Also new to Ryza 2 is an evolved synthesis system, helping the heroine collect and combine unique and customizable items to use along her journey — simplifying the synthesis experience for new players, while at the same time enabling experienced alchemists to make full use of the new synthesis systems like Essence and Evolution Link. Another new feature is Ryza’s ability to Research Ruins. Use conversations with characters to investigate the locations of the ruins, then explore the area and enter the darkness to help Ryza reveal the true mystery inside.
