]]>Cyberpunk 2077 looks like it will have a heavy emphasis on cyberpunk slang, lingo and colloquial terms so today we’ll be going over more than 150 terms from A to Z to help you acclimatize to the world of Cyberpunk so you can really understand what’s happening and being spoken about when you jump into Night City for the first time. This video will feature terms from both demos we’ve seen so far, as well as general Cyberpunk & Cyberpunk 2020 and Red terms and their definitions. Timestamps for letters of the alphabet will be in the description.
If you guys have any terminology you’d like to add, drop a comment and educate your fellow choombas. Don’t worry if you don’t know what that means, we’ll get to it.

Starting with the WCCFTech interview. The first question from them is in regards to the E3 2019 demo and the dominant theme of people in the world attempting to upload human consciousness into machines to attain immortality.
Liu responds as follows. There’s a lot of things we’re trying to do. The Voodoo Boys specifically are very obsessed with that, but other gangs such as the Maesltrom gang we showed last year want to becom “perfect humans” We explore it all as it’s a very big game and we will talk about Transhumanism, and corporate greed as well.
When it comes to romances, Lu confirms that you can exhcnage money for sex, and that NPCs have been richly crafted in a similar way to Yennefer and Triss in diversity in regards to certain NPCs tou can romance.
Next we have a question regarding how many corporations will be in the game. Lu responds saying that he’s lost count and that there will be both big and small corporations. He references the standouts as Militech, Arasaka and Orbital Air oddly enough as some of the main entities. I say oddly enough because in our CYbeprunk 2077 community Podcast Cyberpunk 2077 community manager Lilayah kind of squashed theories that we would be heading to space, and Orbital air is a corporation in charge of this.
When asked if there are factions beyond gangs and corporations, Liu mentions the Nomads, who have very strong ties to family and community and reject being a corporate slave or even working for gangs. Liu mentions we will be able to go to the outskirts of the desert in California and see things like power plants, and abandoned highways. He also mentions this is the best place to max out the speeds of your vehicles since It is hard to do in the city.
In a questions about commiting crimes and if the police come after you, Lui mentions that if you start to wreck havoc in a big town, people will come and try to stop you and they are pretty powerful, and mentions that Trauma Team is one of these enforcing entities. If you are in an isolated area, it’s comparable to the witcher in that if you chop the head off a villager in the middle of nowehere, guards wont just magically show up.
They also ask if it’s possible to get arrested and go to jail, to which Lui coyly mentions that he can’t spoil anything about that. Maybe we get locked up in the slammer and depleted of resources if we take it too far.
As far as dynamic weather goes, Night City is incredibly polluted, and has acid rain as a feature and they’ll be some exploration on pollution, and global warming.
Lui also mentions that the entire city is unlocked from the get go, and that the UI will help lead players to different locales. You will be able to see all these higher leveled characters and enemies just like in The Witcher, where you could say go to Novigrad or Skellige underlevelled but you may have a hard time actually completing any of the quests.
Difficulty settings were also something mention by Liu where he speaks on the fact that there will be multiple difficulty settings, and that there is a hardcore mode where the UI is turned off, which will be a real challenge. They also want to make the game accessible to those who aren’t accustomed to shooters with smart weapons which help you aim.
He also mentions a FoV slider, and subtitles for people who have trouble reading some of the smaller text in the game.
Lu also speaks on unlocking super rare outfits due to super high street cred and being able to see this with mirrors in game and via the character inventory screen. You will also be able to craft and modify your weapons. For example Alvin Liu mentions that you can change a guns ammunition to thermal bullets which light on fire because they’ve built up so much heat.
He ends this particular interview by mentioning that they are showing off ray traced emissives, sky light and ambient occlusion and that he’s seen screenshots internally that have looked better than the demo, so that it’s still a WIP and they are still upgrading the visuals.
Next lets jump to his answers in the PCGameshardware interview.
Our first new interesting detail is when they ask about how open the world of Cyberpunk really is, and what paths we could have taken during the E3 2019 demo.
Next up we have this awesome new release for Pre order from Dark Horse Comics called The World of Cyberpunk 2077. This is described as an insightful, captivatingly designed, full-color hardcover that transports readers to the futuristic megalopolis of Night City. This is an extensive examination of the rich lore of Cyberpunk 2077 with 200 pages of goodness. If you guys are into art, or learning about the world of Cyberpunk this is a must buy. Pre orders are live, so head on over to Amazon and reserve a copy.
Next up we have details on how Cyberpunk 2077 will look on low-end PCs and modern consoles. In an interview with WCCFTech, CDPR’s Alvin Liu was asked a question regarding the optimization for lower end hardware, since many have become wary that their machines will not be able to run Cyberpunk 2077.
Alvin responds as follows. We have a very custom engine, the RED Engine. We’re targeting consoles as first class platforms and it looks amazing there.
Next we have A couple awesome details. When it comes to the music of Cyberpunk 2077 it seems like CDPR has added Paul-Leonard morgan to it’s team of composers. If you guys have seen 2012’s Dredd, he composed the soundtrack for that movie which is a fairly strong soundtrack in my opinion. He also shared a snippet of his work, which seems to be featured in the gameplay sneak peek trailer.
When it comes to attacking NPCS we will be able to be aggressive to most of the people you meet, other than children or NPCs connected with the plot.
Next we have details that every 3rd copy of Digital versions of Cyberpunk 2077 have been pre ordered from GOGcom a subsidiary of CR PROJEKT GROUP. This is awesome because CD PROJEKT GROUP collects 100% of the money upon purchase and it’s a great way to support developers who are actually making good games these days. If you haven’t already consider pre ordering via GOG and show CDPR that we appreciate their hardwork and consumer friendly policies.
Speaking of GOG, the entire team is so hyped about Cyberpunk 2077 that they have decided to launch a new magazine called the Night City News where they will post updates about the game. In issue #1 they feature their 2019 version of Chippin in by legendary chrome rock music band Samurai, played by the REFUSED, a brief synopsis on netrunner T-Bug and the nature of her betrayal in the 2019 CGI trailer, a brief synopsis of Pacifica, the cosplay contest details, and some details on nonlethal settings on weapons to neutralize enemies. This is all stuff we have covered, but it’s nice to glean over again. Also they have provided a high quality do it yourself Cyberpunk 2077 poster you can print out. Trust me when I say if you guys hang this up in your room youll be getting all the babes.
Moving on to an interview with Game Media we have more from mateusz tomaszkiewicz . When asked what other Hollywood stars he’d like to see in the game apart from Keanu he says “I love Meryl Streep .. I love the Devil wears Prada, and it would be a great to have her as one of the characters in the game” he goes on to mention that “She could totally be one of the big corporate characters in the game.”

]]>First up we have what kind of builds we can expect in Cyberpunk 2077 and how we can choose to approach battle. We know that there is a fluid class system featuring the Netrunner, Solo and Techie skill trees. This equates to hacking, firepower and crafting specialties respectively. What we also know is that the game does allow some big creativity changes from past CD Projekt Red titles. Senior Quest Designer Phillip Weber and Associate Design Director Kyle Rowley mentioned in an interview that “We can have strong solos, if you want to make them tanky with big weapons. You can also make your character more like Major from Ghost in The shell. Basically a Cyberninja as we have skills for that as well”.
This may mean we can be more proficient with larger militech rifles if we choose the former, and melee based destruction like the mantis blades or katanas if we choose the latter.
Now this part seems to be exclusive to the Solo Tree, so its yet to be seen if variations can occur within techie and netrunner skill trees to further diversify how we play. Maybe Netrunners can choose options like stealth dominant and hacking dominant builds.
Next we have the 2020 and 2077 timeline and some clarification about continuations. Cyberpunk 2077 is not a direct continuation of Cyberpunk 2020 as confirmed by Mike Pondsmith, who has stated that many changes are made to the world and story of Cyberpunk 2077. This means that Pondsmith in conjunction with CD Projekt Red has developed an alternate timeline. Due to shifts in technology from when Pondsmith released Cyberpunk 2020 in 1988 to present day where Cyberpunk 2077 is being developed, there had to be some shifts to make the timeline and the progression of the events in the timeline make sense.
Pondsmith clarifies that the technology that we experience in 2077 wont be the way it was portrayed in 2020 for those reasons.
Obviously this is what happens in a lot of mediums, Movies are never exactly the same as books, and vice versa and games are not always the same as their source material whether that be books, table top rpgs or movies. The witcher 3 was no different, because the game has a lot of elements that varied from the Sapkowski novels they were based on. CDPR and Pondsmith have iterated the timeline together however, and this may be because they are trying to make it as true to their roots as possible.
Next up we have romance and relationship options in Night City. We already know Cyberpunk 2077 is a highly customizable game, with a multitude of options to fit any gamer’s preference. We can choose what gender our character is, and also our sexual preferences. That means the character we mould from the groud up can be bisexual, gay, lesbian or straight. The relationships that are developed in Night City can be long term spanning the length of the game, or one night stands and this is completely up to player discretion and how they want their Night City experience to play out. These will seemingly have an influence on story and dialogue options, and even interactions as you are walking down the streets of Night City.
Developing a wide variety of NPCs with a wide variety of sexual preferences, makes the game more grounded and lively. You might not be everyone’s cup of tea and that leads to the player not feeling like they have complete control of the world. Whilst Geralt was mostly in charge of his sexual conquests, you might have to work harder for some of them in Cyberpunk 2077.
The game features full frontal nudity and doesn’t shy away from that at all. In the gameplay demo, they blurred out the genitals of the player models for the sake of the presentation, but when you get the game blurring and censoring won’t be there. This is obviously a mature game and the world’s stance on sex and the normalization of all these components reflects this.
Next we have CD Projekt Red’s vision for the Gangs of Cyberpunk 2077. CDPR’s design philosophy is that they really want to emphasize that they don’t want gangs to resemble comic book-esque villains. A humans need to seek identity leads people to join gangs, and modify their bodies. In the world of Cyberpunk 2077 where everything naturally stands out, identity for many people are lost. This leads to the human need to join groups and factions, many of them being gangs. This also gives CDPR an opportunity to tie that in with concepts of transhumanism, and the ascention of power using technology. Gangs are usually reserved for people who aren’t able to make it in a megacorp setting, but still lust for power.
Finally we have how much freedom we will have with NPCs and other characters in Night City.
