]]>In Night City, you can legally purchase most weapons, from the highly disposable Budget arms, or their do it yourself 3D printing kits, to more specialized weapons from more exclusive vendors.
Heavy weapons or weapons of war as they are called, undergo far more scrutiny and the sales of these weapons are prohibited within the boundaries of Night City. The exception to this rule is the corporations and their security forces to use at their discretion and for “public safety” as well as the elite tier of the NCPD, the Max Tac in combating the rampant threat of murderous Cyberpsychos.
Illegally, heavier firepower can be provided through a fixer with the right connections, at a considerable fee.
The weapon hierarchy in Night City is dominated by Asian Corporations. Arasaka, Tsunami and Kang Tao are considered to be the best in weapon manufacturing. Arasaka is one of the most intimidating Japanese corporations covering all elements of security including high grade weaponry, and Tsunami is also a highly distinguished Japanese corporation mostly focused on experimental and out of the box thinking and designs. Kang Tao is a newer company founded around 2050, who are known for their sophisticated “smart technology.”
The midtier largely belongs to the American corporations. Militech currently focuses heavily on the mid range of weapons due to their ability for mass production, and Midnight Arms focuses on Borg weapons which are a subcategory of weapons that can only be wielded by heavily augmented users.
Malorian arms have fallen from grace, as they were a bespoke and highly renowned company in the 20s. THey have yet to release a new model since 2043, but they still have a reputation for making handguns that pack a punch. Constitutional Arms makes standard mid tier machine guns and shotguns, and Techtronica have earned the name the “Russian Militech” due to their similarity in what they offer the market. They have recently included military robots in their offerings.
For those of you who are short on eddies and influence, look no further than the bottom tier brands. Nokota offers reliable, powerful, but inexpensive arms, where India-based Darra Polytechnic is more about style than functionality. Serbian Rostovic are again cheap, but can be customized to the nines. BudgetArms is a standout name in the space, and is the epitome of base functionality.
Modern weapons are classified into 3 main types. Power weapons are conventional guns in the sense that they use traditional ammo, calibres and cartridges. This category includes a wide variety of weapons including polymer one shots, which are disposable, revolvers, smgs, machine guns, shotguns and pistols. High rate of fire accompanied by high recoil is a feature of most power weapons.
Tech weapons are weapons that use rail gun technology, firing projectiles that are propelled with an electromagnetic charge. What they give up in terms of rate of fire, they make up for in penetration effects depending on how long the charge is held for. These weapons use caseless ammunition, typically jacketed steel flechette.
Smart weapons use gyrojet technology to fire caseless guided ammo at enemies. This technology was first developed in the 1960s, but was unreliable during combat. In 2077, they are efficienct and pin point accurate. Smart weapons are tied to weapon grips and optics to accurately scan and track the movement of targets.
Melee weapons exist, but they typically aren’t favored in the dystopian future. With so much bombastic weapon technology, blades, knives, hammers are a more crude form of destruction only used by few. WIth that being said, blades don’t jam or run out of ammo, so keeping both a firearm and some kind of melee weapon may be a good idea.
Modifying your weapon to your liking is also key. Optics, sights, suppressors and launchers are available and most weapons have modular slots to install whatever you like onto them.
Customization extends to different types of ammunition, like thermal ammo to inflict damage over time or EMP rounds to make a quickly approaching highly augmented enemy collapse into a short circuiting hunk of junk.
Also stay tuned to the end of this video guys we have an absolutely MASSIVE GIVEAWAY worth around 500 DOLLARS up for grabs. If you are a cyberpunk and or table top role playing game fan this is one you are going to want to check out.
First check out this awesome GameInformer cover for July. It features V fixing what seems to be his rocket arm augmentation seen in the gig trailer, in a Heywood bar. Very very cool cover here and there is even a binary easter egg on the bottom which translates to love from CDPR. We also have a new Network News 54 Logo, with the briefing in the back being in reference to a Night City mass shooting. V’s also plugged into what seems to be some sort of charging unit or even potentially a phone. The woman on the right also has a Lizzies tattoo, so there’s the potential shes a Moxe member as well.
We also have a couple of amazing screenshots in GameInformer so soak it all in. The vibe and the aesthetic so far is bang on, and I’m dying to see more.
Next we had some translations from a GRYOnline interview and some details from IGN as they both hosted Pawel Sasko. Now some of the details within this interview that we will skip for this episode can be found in my prior Night City Wire initial coverage, so after you check this one out, go back and watch that one to round off your knowledge on the standout details.
Getting right into it, Pawel mentions that there is a car destruction system to a certain degree, and that yes you can crush and run over other NPCs with these cars.
There is a wanted system in particular similar to GTA, and driving over NPCs will likely issue warrants out for the police to start tracking you. Just as a brief aside, this is a fully fledged RPG and not a sandbox experience like GTA, so the repercussions of doing sketchy things will be much more severe as well get to later in this interview.
Moving on you can pet cats in the game. You can also walk around while in dialogue and other than a few instances you won’t belocked in on what you can look at.
In V’s apartment there is a TV and computer where you can watch shows and check your emails.
You will be able to break into any car, but you will need the proper strength perks to rip open doors or hacking perks to hotwire the car for example.
Night City and the Badlands that surround it will have no loading screens, and the Badlands will be a fully explorable area.
One of the many inspirations of the story was Akira, and Vampire the masquerades bloodlines, and almost every quest in the game tells some part of the worlds story that you live in.
Even the ketchup and mustard bottles belong to the Cyberpunk universe and example given by on how dedicated they are to making everything believable.
Relations between the characters are going to be realistic and will be heavily based on choice. You can have a friendly, hateful, best friend or sexual relation with the NPCs of Night City. They will react to the way you treat them.
You also seem to be connected to the Police system of some kind, and you can scan other NPCs to check what they’ve done and if there is a warrant for them. You can subdue them and the police will take over or you can outright kill them for a bounty.
The police will not see you in every district and in some gangs will be the policing force. The final straw in the wanted system seems to be the Psychosquad which will kill you on sight but you’ll have to do something really heinous for that to occur.
Humanity index is still a thing and you won’t be able to implant yourself with more than a certain amount of cyberware. End game will also act like the witcher where you get warned that you are about to proceed and get locked out of content. You can also decide to not install any implants except the operating system in your body, which might indicate that we no longer need the Kiroshi eye, or the subdermal grip. This was compared to living in New York with no cellphone.

]]>First we have the option to choose our past or origin story via the Lifepath system. These will influence dialogue options in the game and will allow you to interact with different factions on a different scale. For example if you choose the Street Kid background, your knowledge of the streets and gang life might allow you to press gang members for deeper answers to your questions.
First we have the Nomads which are described as “Roaming the Badlands, looting scrapyards, raiding fuel depots – life on the road wasn’t easy, But growing up in a nomad clan has its perks. Honesty, integrity and a love of freedom – qualities that few in Night City possess and no amount of money can buy”
Next we have Street Kids. “They say if you wanna understand the streets, you gotta live em. Gangs, fixers, dolls, small-time pushers – you were raised by them all. Down here the law of the jungle dictates the weak serve the strong – the only law in Night City you have yet to break.
Finally we have the Corporate Lifepath. “Few leave the corporate world with their lives – fewer still with their souls intact. You’ve been there – you’ve bent the rules, exploited secrets and weaponized information. There’s no such thing as fair game. Only winners and losers.
Next we have something that im sure a ton of you will be spending an inordinate amount of time on, and that’s the character creator. Within this we will have to choose our physical style, what our character will look like and their physical traits.
We start of with body type which you can match with a male or female voice. You will be able to use sliders for body types according to this post on reddit, but to what degree is still to be determined. Moving on to the appearance tab, we have an expansion of the character creator since E3 2018, although visually it might seem condensed. If we combine these character creators we have skin tone options, eye type, eye color, nose, ears, mouth, jaw, beard, surface wiring, hairstyle, scars, tattoos, makeup, piercings.
Moving on we have the ability to choose our attributes, which will run into our perks and the fluid class system. The attributes include Reflexes, which funnels into handgun, rifle and blade proficiency, cool which leads to assassination, nerve and sniper rifle skills, technical which leads to engineering skills, intelligence which leads to hacking options, as well as body which opens up shotgun, melee, two handed and athletics options.
Raising our base level attributes is done by levelling up and installing body cyberware, skills are raised by performing actions like hacking crafting and using weaponry, and perks are unlocked via street cred and general XP.
Your options when it comes to cyberware are replacing things like legs, arms, torso and even your nervous system implants
Speaking of Street cred we also have clothing options and customization that will boost resistances and add street cred, which is your social currency. Physical, thermal, emp and chemical resistances vary from clothing item to clothing item. The visual styles of neokitsch, kitsch, entropism and neomilitarism extend to not only the architecture and districts, but also the clothes and the options in Night City will reflect this. Increased street cred will also unlock additional vendors for more clothing, cyberware & customization possibilities.
When it comes to weapons, we will be able to augment how they look and operate. Skins, scopes, and even firing modes. Using weapons will augment your shooting proficiency and will help narrow your crosshairs for more accurate shooting. You will also be able to craft specialized ammunition that can be more lethal against certain enemies.
Vehicle customization seems like its in the cards as well, but nothing at the moment has been confirmed for this yet, although we do know that different vehicles will have different stats.

It was really informative, and towards the end we got a brief philosophy and mantra of CD PROJEKT RED when it comes to creating their games so again it’s worth the full watch.
