Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires – Release Date Trailer | PS5, PS4

DYNASTY WARRIORS 9 Empires. The strategic battle experience will release in North America on Feb. 15, 2022 for the PlayStation®4, and digitally on PlayStation®5*.

Combining the 1 vs. 1,000 action of DYNASTY WARRIORS with the addition of tactical elements, DYNASTY WARRIORS 9 Empires sets players on a quest to conquer ancient China by combining use of strategy and the sword. Battles have dramatically changed from previous titles in the series thanks to the new feature: “Storming the Castle”. With areas around castles now turned into battlefields, skirmishes evolve into “Storming the Castle” encounters, with players battling to take control of the castle. Players will also be able to utilize “Siege Battles with Troops” in order to invade the enemy’s base, taking advantage of siege weapons while giving instructions to troops during battle. Once players break through an enemy’s gate, they will enter a “Decisive Battle” and can claim victory after defeating the commander. Although all the enemy officers will re-join the battlefield for one last fierce resistance, players will have a chance to defeat and capture them.

The SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 characters announced today include four new historical fighters as well as a couple of surprise variations on the two main characters driving the game’s overall storyline.

The four new characters include kusarigama expert and head of the Iga Ninjas, Sandayū Momochi; Ninja Sword master Hattori Hanzō; Magoichi Saika, a professional mercenary with no interest in the concept of good and evil; and the great samurai Yasuke, who serves as Nobunaga’s retainer.

In addition to the four new characters, Omega Force revealed for the first time that adult versions of both “The Demon King” Nobunaga Oda and the Oda family’s retainer, Mitsuhide Akechi will also be playable, including Nobunaga’s proficient sword techniques and Mitsuhide’s fearsome combination attacks utilizing both his matchlock firearm and blade!

SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 is currently under development for the PlayStation®4 Computer Entertainment System (playable on PlayStation®5 via Backward Compatibility)

All of the game’s character designs have been completely redesigned and re-imagined to help fit the storyline’s Sengoku time period. All total, SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 features 27 playable characters, including both new and returning warriors, from Ieyasu Tokugawa and Hideyoshi Hashiba to Nō, and Yoshimoto Imagawa. Original character Mitsuki – known as the Kōga Ninja, has also been added, with other new characters to be announced at a later date.

In addition, all-new Musou actions have been added to the series – including newly designed frenzy attacks – elevating the thrill of blowing away hordes of enemy soldiers in exhilarating fashion. These actions are displayed in a vibrant new Japanese ink painting art style, elegantly evolving the SAMURAI WARRIORS series to showcase the Sengoku period in stunning fashion as the intertwining stories of Nobunaga and Mitsuhide unravel on screen like a Sengoku period picture scroll.
