Cyberpunk 2077 News – Rumors About Current Gen Holding Back Cyberpunk, Takemura & Funko Pops!

Some BIG Rumors from a big Polish journalist, a NEW character teased via a new Cyberpunk 2077 Funko Pop release, some new Cyberpunk Red developments in the form of new art, Cyberpunk multiplayer and more will all be discussed in today’s Cyberpunk 2077 News episode!

Starting off today’s episode we have some Cyberpunk 2077 Funko Pops officially being announced at the London Toy Fair by Funko in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED. The official image they showed includes two Male V figures, 1 which glows in the dark and both retracting the Nanowire cable from their arms, 2 of Johnny Silverhand, as well as one female V statue sporting the mantis blades.

Now there was also another image of a Cyberpunk 2077 Funko Pop which have yet to hear about. This character’s name is Takamura. I hadn’t heard about this guy from the lore so I asked the expert herself MadQueen if she had, and she didn’t so this is likely a new character for 2077 or that will be featured first in the tabletop Cyberpunk Red.

My first assumption about this character is he is most definitely from Arasaka, since Arasaka employees wear all black, as well as the obvious in his name sounding Japanese. He looks somewhat similar to the Arasaka employee being ran over in the CE statue, but the eye augmentations and facial hair do differ between the two.

Next we have a Rumor I wanted to mention coming from Borys Niespielak, who is apparently as renowed as Jason Schreier in Poland. I want to preamble this part of the video with the fact that these are currently rumors and should be taken with a huge grain of salt. These were posted via a user who translated the podcast from polish to English in the Triple S League Discord server. There’s one point in particular I wanted to address out of all of them from this as it aligns with recent delay statements.

The rumor in question is that the biggest of Cyberpunk 2077s technical problems are being caused by the first version of the Xbox One from 2013, and that if these problems weren’t solved by January, there would be a delay. Obviously, there was a delay, so the issue may be the original Xbox, although there is a parallel rumor from this podcast mentioning that Cyberpunk at GDC 2019 had no way of running properly on current gen overall.

There were other rumors via the translation, including Ciri being the main character for a CDPR game in the future that was supposed to be exclusive to Sony, which makes no sense to me judging by how close the studio is to Microsoft, and their presence at Microsoft conferences, that the main story is shorter than The Witcher 3’s but is satisfying on second or third runs, and that the main storyline is finished.

Next, we have an article from GamesRadar analyzing the Cyberpunk 2077 delay. In the article they mention that due to the scale, density and seamless world building CD PROJEKT RED is attempting to immerse the player in, the delay was an inevitable.
Quest Designer Patrick Mills, likens the quest development process to trying to put a jigsaw puzzle together, but the pieces of the puzzle keep changing shape as you place more of them in. He’s mentioned in the past it’s a lot of work and revision.
We all know the Witcher 3 went through a couple of delays, and Cyberpunk 2077 looks substantially more complex in not only it’s vertically expansive world but also its gameplay approach.

Next up we have Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer news. Now in the last video regarding the delay and a teleconference with investors by CDPR about the delay, I made mention of how CD PROJEKT RED clarified that the next triple A RPG game that they were making is actually Codenamed Cyberpunk online but will be a Cyberpunk multiplayer experience. I wanted to come back and address it because we had been speculating for a long time, that CD PROJEKT RED was doing 3 cyberpunk projects, and now we have confirmation of this. We have the standalone single player story driven RPG coming September 17th, we have the DLCs and Expansions that will be coming post launch, and now we have what will likely be a standalone Cyberpunk Online game. It’s still classified as a Triple A RPG, so that just goes to show that this will be an online mode with RPG elements in it, likely using assets from 2077. Now originally this was scheduled for 2021 like previously mentioned but with the delay of Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberpunk Online will likely now have a release date of 2022 at the earliest.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Xbox E3 Conference, Release Leak Rumor, Cross Gen!

In Todays Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk news we are discussing Microsofts official announcement of their conference at E3 where Cyberpunk 2077 will likely have a large presence, a Finish release date leak that may hint at Cyberpunk 2077 release dates we’ve discussed in the past for a Cyberpunk 2077 launch, PS5 specs and what that could mean for Cyberpunk 2077 and what a cross generational release could look like, and some countdown to the dark future details from the creators of Cyberpunk 2077’s source material, RTalsorian games.

First up in todays Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk related news we have confirmation of Microsoft’s Xbox conference date at E3. Xbox took to twitter earlier last week to make the announcement and this is where we will most likely see Cyberpunk 2077s showcase. E3 2018 featured a brilliant hacking sequence and a world premiere of the Cyberpunk 2077 trialer, and this year CDPR has promised it’s Largest showcase ever, even bigger than some of their Witcher 3 related E3’s according to their financial summary.

This years e3 xbox briefing takes place on Sunday June 9th at 1pm PT or 4 PM eastern. Not only has Cyberpunk 2077 and CDPR promised their biggest presence at E3 but Microsoft has as well and with the absence of Sony this year, Microsoft really needs to hit it out of the park for the convention. Set your timers because you are not going to want to miss this conference.

Next we have this finish release date leak that was made aware to me by my subscribers in some of my comments. Now this is from a Finish company called Pelimies with the date of October 18th 2019 as a Release date. This does align with other leaks we’ve had in the past from namely Turkish Bilkom + Territory Studio so this does give more weight to these assumptions even though they are to be taken with a grain of salt. Much like both of those leaks, Pelimies has since deleted their “slip up”.

Next up we have the PS5 specs and what that means in terms of the fidelity of a possible port. Again CDPR heavily hinted at Red Engine 4 being able to take the cross generational leap, and that they are keen on doing so, so these details are relevant to these statements. The PS5 offers a GPU capable or ray tracing, a CPU created from AMD’s Ryzen line, a specialized SSD, backwards compatibility and 8K resolution support. This puts it more on part with high end PCS than the previous generation of consoles. Backwards compatibility means that you can likely play your PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 and that if its ported, the PS5 version of 2077 will come with additional perks and obviously a higher fidelity experience. The speciliazed SSD, 8k support and red endgine 4 could be a very potent mix and a new revolution in gaming and how we view video games all together. Im very excited about what this intial next generation news could mean for 2077.

Finally we have some countdown to the dark future details which features melee weapons from the Cyberpunk source material. Many of these have the potential to show up in Cyberpunk 2077 so these are always nice to go through.

In episode 107 we learn about Scratchers. Scratchers are essentially metal or carbo-glass replacements for peoples fingernails and can be used like a razorblade. This cyberweapon is discrete and are design to only slice during crossward movements and are one of the few cyberweapons that are legal and available at any local clinic.

In episode 108 we have Vampires, which are implanted fangs. A full set replacing all teeth is known as a sharkgrin special and vampires are usually decorative unless they are augmented with poison injectors. Rippers are deadlier versions of cracthers and are 3 inch blades which pop out from the fingernails.

In episode 109 we have wolvers, which are essentially wolverines blades. They are a full foot in length and telescope out of the hands when you make a fist. BigKnucks are for brawlers who need some cyberware that will reinforce their fists. These increase the weight and striking power.

Before we go I’d also like to wish a happy belated birthday to Mike Pondsmith, the visionary for the source material of Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberpunk 2013 and 2020.
