Cyberpunk 2077 News – ARG Details, Katana First Look via McFarlane Toys & Cosplay Finalists!

In Today ‘s Cyberpunk 2077 News, we’ll be going over the latest ARG details, Cosplay contest finalists, what to expect in 2020 and much more!

Before we start, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank CD PROJEKT RED for including me in their official ARG project. As someone who has been on YouTube for just over a year, it’s an honor to be directly involved in this, and I know the other creators who also took part share the same sentiments. It was a really cool opportunity for us to engage each of our communities in a unique way as well, and so again thank you CD PROJEKT RED and those involved for the care package and the ARG clues to stream. If you guys are unaware, CDPR reached out to Me, Last known meal, Madqueen and Triple S league as well as two larger creators to help with the Alternate Reality Game for Cyberpunk 2077, a kind of covert marketing campaign where additional game details and prizes are unlocked via solving complex online puzzles. We each streamed us opening 1 of the 4 clues with the culmination of all 4 clues happening in the Triple S Leagues stream where the GameDetectives, a notoriously fast ARG busting community solved the puzzle right as the stream was about to wrap up.

Shoutout to the whole community of ARGers on the GameDetectives server, the guys who were on the stream, and the collaboration from these fine gentlemen in the chat who cracked the final clue with some impressive methodologies. There is a write up for those interested in seeing how the puzzle was cracked via Dystakruul, who was integral in solving the puzzle, and there will be a link in the description. There will also be a summary by the Triple S League or possibly JuiceHead, so when it does come out, or if it already has check the description for that as well. Overall this was really fun, and according to Lilayah this leg of the ARG is now complete but will begin again in early 2020 so keep an eye out for that.

I know I’ve seen quite a few comments on my videos of some of you either applying at CDPR, or wanting to know details on jobs, or even developers like CDPR being the inevitable goal for those still in school. My advice here would be to keep an eye out for listings, and if you have the appropriate skills, internship and general job opportunities are popping up all the time and I’ll put a priority on sharing any opportunities I learn bout with you guys in the new year. Thank you to the gentleman who sent out this message, its cool to be recognized as an influence in getting a job and good luck to all those in intern positions within the company.

Moving on we have some Cosplay Finalist details. Here’s a brief overview of the finalists shared via the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter page. There are a ton of amazing Cosplays here, so whoever is judging this is going to have their work cut out for them. My favorites currently are the Lizzy Wizzy, Trauma Team and Royce cosplays, but realistically I think any of these guys can win. Stay tuned in the new year for progressions on that front.

We also have some more Cyberpunk 2077 products being announced in the form of figurines. Now there are two different companies currently working on figurines at the moment that I’m aware of, one being Totaku and the other being McFarlane. I’m not going to lie, this is not really something I’m overly interested in, but it just goes to show you how widespread this franchise is looking to be. From books, to figurines to board and card games Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have a huge market impact, and not only in the form of the actual video game. The McFarlane ones are pretty great so far and feature our first look at the Katana in game on the Male V action figure. Silverhand also looks quite good in the McFarlane series. I do truly hope they fix the faces of the Totaku prototypes though. They look pretty bad and I’m probably going to have nightmares from them.

Next up we have a quick overlay of the map from the 4AEM cyberpunk 2077 music video, with the world of Cyberpunk 2077 collector’s edition. Seems to fit perfectly and is slightly more detailed with a tad bit more depth to Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – E3 2019 Leak, YouTuber Invites & CD PROJEKT RED Inhumane?

In todays Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk 2077 News we are discussing a new E3 2019 leak highlighting everything that we will get from Cyberpunk 2077 this year at E3, Some big YouTubers invited to a CD PROJEKT RED showcase, CD PROJEKT RED under fire for allegations of over working and burning out their employees via Kotaku, A Trauma Team international Website and come clarification about an ARG, and some Countdown to the Dark Future details about The Net in Cyberpunk 2020.

First up in our Cyberpunk 2077 News segment we have a post on NeoGaf from a user who spills the beans on everything that’s going to happen at E3 when it comes to Microsoft. The title is The next 18 months of Microsoft the calm before the storm, and goes into detail specifically on what will happen at the Miscrosoft E3 2019 media briefing on June 9th where we will likely see our first Cyberpunk 2077 reveal. Now apparently this guy has “insider connections”.

In relation to Cyberpunk 2077 and CD PROJEKT RED, he claims that we will receive a Progress update of the game, a new gameplay trailer and a targeted release date from Cyberpunk 2077 at the Microsoft conference.

He goes on to show various business cards, and media passes, although out-dated as proof that he is someone in the loop, and doesn’t mention CDPR’s game coming “by 2021”

Now in my humble opinion the Cyberpunk 2077 related stuff is not anything out of the ordinary. We’ve speculated that we will likely received these things from CD PROJEKT RED and we aren’t anything close to industry insiders. The user joined in April 2019, as well so take this leak with a huge grain of salt. Again when it comes to strictly 2077, these are all things we’ve forecasted before.

Next up we have details of some big and prolific YouTubers getting invites from CD PROJEKT RED to see something at E3 2019. As far as I know it seems LegacyKillaHD, SkillUp, YongYea, got an invite along with Metal Jesus Rocks. They have been cryptically tweeting about their invites for “their most anticipated game of e3 2019” and in the case of SkillUp, community manager from CD PROJEKT RED Lilayah responded only giving more credibility that it is Cyberpunk 2077.

Now in SkillUp’s tweet they aslo make mention that it’s a behind closed doors session at E3. This leads me to believe that these guys will get their hands on the game to make impression videos.

Next up we have a Kotaku Article from Jason Schrier about the state of working at CD PROJEKT RED and how they have recently been criticized for having poor working condisitions and stretching their employees too thin when it comes to game development.

In this article, Schrier says The developer best known for the witcher series has cultivated a reputation for crunch in asking its employees to work nights and weekends for months at a time, and that studio management wants to improve their work life balance, even if they continue to feel that crunch is a necessity.

Interviewing Marcin Iwinski, Iwinski states that they are known for treating gamers with respect, but that they would like to be known for treating developers and staff with respect in the future.

He also mentions how CD PROJEKT RED has introduced a non obligatory crunch policy, And that even when the studio asks staff to work on nights and weekends its not mandatory.

Naturally game development is grindy at times, and especially with the polish and tenacity CD PROJEKT RED attacks it with, even more so.

At the same time a non obligatory policy has the potential to devolve into being ineffective.

Next we have the Trauma Team Interantional website and its “resurgence”. If you guys remember a while ago CD PROJEKT RED and Cyberpunk 2077 had a couple of ARG games during anf after E3 which is an alternate reality game where you find clues online and solve puzzles through their content.

On that note post E3 2018 there was a trauma team international website with an ARG. Fast forward to 2019 and MadQueen reported on it’s resurgence a few days ago after she realized there was an update to the TT international website and potentally prompting a new ARG from them in the future.

Finally we have some Countdown to the Dark future episodes featuring The Net. This is a series of the developers of the source material of Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberpunk 2013 and 2020. We get a lot of lore information from these episodes.

In episode 135 we learn about what the Net actually is. The net of 2020 is the sum of total human telecommunications, joining together computers, telephones, cell phones, radios, microwave transmitters, satellites and more. Everything connected to the NET is part of it, from megacorp supercomputers to computer controlled-blenders.

The net has many functions including storing and sharing information, communications, and remote access and control of peripherals.
