An unlisted video on the Cyberpunk 2077 YouTube page which reveals some unseen gameplay sections that can be seen in the background footage, an exclusive preview of the Cyberpunk 2077 Lore book and some new 2077 world building details via IGN, New characters being revealed, one who has quite an interesting name, and new district information about Westbrook which seems to be a favorite of the developers all in todays Cyberpunk 2077 News!
First let’s check out some new characters tweeted out by the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter page. First we have Mr Jenkins who is part of the corporate Origin story. Next we have a new character named Mr Goldhand.
Next, lets get into this unlisted video of the Polish Hands on preview event from CDPR.
First we have another look at the braindance scene where Evelyn Parker leader of the Mox is wooing be Yorinobu Arasaka or another Arasaka higher up.
We also get a little tease at the new menu UI in these very brief frames. It cuts out prematurely so we can’t see much but it looks like they’ve gone back to the red deisng versus the brown UI of the deep dive.
At 1:33 we have the Darra handcannon from the Gig Trailer being unloaded into Royce in the Maelstrom lair. This appears to be this area from the Gig trailer, which has since been changed from the 48 minute demo.
Next we also see a updated version of the point from the 48 minute demo where Dum Dum greets you. The visuals are on par with the more recent footage we’ve seen and CDPR has really made the characters look more threatening, with their overall more grimier and dark aesthetic.
We also have a player showcasing a meeting with again Moxy Leader evenlyn parker. We see a prompt with 4 dialogue options as well as a mini map showing a smaller location on the top right, likely the Lizzies Bar. We also follow Evelyn into the bar in a brief sequence later on and talk to her as we sit.
In another super brief segment we have a car driving up to what seems to be some pretty massive buildings at night.
Moving on we have some exclusive new details and screenshots from IGN n their exclusive preview of the upcoming World of Cyberpunk 2077 lore book. We have an introduction page which showcases just where the world stands from the point of view of the Night City Inquirer a media group dedicated to exposing the truths on corporations.
Chapter 2 of the book features all the important facets of cyberware, weapons, vehicles, braindance and netrunning. Helicopters, AVs, cars and trucks, drones, ACPAs or power armor and even speedboats are mentioned when it comes to vehicles. Diving into some straight up 2077 lore about the history of vehicles post 4th corporate war, and the origins of the fuel CHOOH2. Due to global crises, AVs became almost completely absent.
Civilian and military aircrafts took priority, as the petroleum industry’s lack of stability resulted in the innovations of new ways to fuel a vehicle.
Fossil fuels were used once again, although a major breakthrough in 2041 in Europe called induction-wheel tech became the new go to.
In America however, years of research by Biotechnica developed a strain of Triticum vulgaris megasuavias, a type of high sugar wheat which is the main ingredient in CHOOH2, that was resistant to the biovirus that had previously almost wiped it out.
This allowed the production of CHOOH2 to resume, prices to drop, and the resurgence of the AV. In 2077 AVs are a sign of luxury and are used mainly by the upper class, police and military, and the corporations.
Next we have a page on everyone’s favorite subject netrunning and the net. The net pre 4th corporate war was able to store all kinds of data, files and corporate secrets. You’d interact with it using a computer or a cybermoden and an interface, which allowed you to experience the net in 3 dimensions.
In 2077 the Net is no more. It was destroyed by corporate attacks, and the parting gift of one dead man, who isn’t mentioned here but is most likely Rache Bartmoss.
Moving right along we have new concept art and details on the district of Westbrook. In a post CDPR describes it as follows. “Westbrook – Many consider it to be the best place to live and have fun in Night City. It’s where the richest and most influential members of society reside. But it wasn’t always like that. Back in 2023, after the nuclear attack on Arasaka, the part of Westbrook next to the City Center sustained significant damage, turning skyscrapers into ghostly, crooked skeletons for the next 2 decades.
North Oak used to see crime rates that measured higher than any other district, but with the attentive help of mercenaries, order has been well and truly restored. Now, North Oak is home to Night City’s untouchable elite. Today, this is the most beautiful neighborhood in Night City.
Any aspiring and ambitious corpo that cannot afford to live in North Oak lives in Charter Hill.
If you’ve got the eddies you come to Japantown to spend them.
