Cyberpunk 2077 News – Silverhand’s EPIC Concert, New Edgerunners & Updated Q&A!

A trailer for a Microsoft product featuring a look at not only the MASSIVE scale of Night City, but also an insane musical performance, an updated Q&A from CDPR via GameStar and the real translations and facts from some misinformation which has gone somewhat viral, some new characters from the world of Cyberpunk Red, one of which you may recognize, a new partnership for CD PROJEKT RED amongst a couple other interesting things in the world of Cyberpunk, in this weeks Cyberpunk 2077 News!

First up check out this brand-new trailer for the Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition Controller where we get a quick glimpse of Night City and an out of control rock concert led by Samurai front-man Johnny Silverhand aka Keanu Reeves. I’m going to play it in it’s entirety for you guys then well do a mini analysis.

So as you can see, it’s a pretty hype trailer which might just feature a story from the Cyberpunk lore first told via Cyberpunk 2013’s Never Fade Away where Johnny Silverhand threw a rebellious concert, and convinced a massive crowd to start a riot and attack Arasaka Corp, whom he has a strong hatred for.

Going along with this same train of thought, CD PROJEKT RED has made it clear that there will be a performance or concert of sorts, similar to The Witcher 3 ‘s Priscilla Performance but on a much more massive scale. This could be exactly what they have planned for this, and with clubs and concerts being so prevalent in the Cyberpunk universe, expect to see more of these performances throughout the game.

We also get to see the density of a section of the city and what a top down view of the map would look like. This map has been confirmed to be Night City, and yes, we finally get to see it at Night, albeit only for a few seconds.
Moving on we have an updated Q&A that was mistranslated last week, with some corrections via Hillanoko. Big shoutout to him for translating a series of GameStar podcasts, and yes it seems unfortunately that the whole summoning programs in Cyberspace was actually in reference to Cyberpunk 2020, and not about the video game 2077. We do however have some fantastic, legit details that we are going to go through.

The first new point here is that despite the fact that people have seen over an hour of gameplay, Pawel Sasko mentions that “players have seen nothing yet” and that devs are able to test the “cook” at home, which is the code for the current build. It’s mentioned that a fair amount of devs enjoy playing the game after work to wind down.

It was also disclosed that certain objects have values allowing NPC’s to listen and or see through them to a certain degree based on the object. Concrete doesn’t let you see through, but if it’s a thinner material, NPCs can hear through it. SO, material can dampen sound and sight based on its own unique values.

When it comes to map Icons CDPR felt like The Witcher had too many points of interest, I’m assuming especially in Skellige which most players did not see, because they want players to have the chance to complete every icon on the map.
When it comes to solving quests, the general philosophy is to subtly lead the player to markers or places and to encourage the player to open their eyes or listen to what is being told instead of a glowing piece of whatever is on the ground.

Moving on we have a correction on NPC routines. There are not 1000 NPC routines like mentioned in the first translation. The actual translation here is that most people will have automated routines from a pool which can divert into branching options. It’s mostly randomized but remains believable.

There were also two standout points that were not mentioned in the podcasts, one being the melee system having an overhaul, and that in Cyberspace we will be able to summon creatures and warriors. These are both again NOT mentioned and thus currently do not represent the game.

Moving on check out some new Cyberpunk Red Edgerunners from RTalsorian, the tabletop RPG company who created the Cyberpunk IP that is being licensed to CDPR.

First, we have Kepler who is a Nomad from a Florida Nomad Pack, who was created with the help of Ashley Sherman.

Next we have Pneumo the Netrunner created with the help of James Young, we have Damian the Techie created with the help of Brian Marquez.

3rd we have Zara the Solo, created with the help of Angle Giuffria.

4th we have Trace Santiago a Media class character created with the help of Trace Wilson.

And finally, Lilayah the Rockergirl, created with the help of Amelia Kolat, who is the Cyberpunk 2077 Community Manager. Really cool to see her up there being represented in Mike Pondsmiths vision, she does a great job of managing and interacting the community and us content creators when we have questions or concerns.

Finally, we have some news via CDPR that the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 will be supported by Agora Group when it comes to their advertising campaign.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Senior Quest Designer CLARIFIES Misinformation, New Characters & New Song!

Clearing up some misconceptions about a Q&A Podcast from German Magazine GameStar where there were alleged information on Cyberspace combat, a detail about Night City’s thousands of NPCs, the revamped melee system and more, Cyberpunk 2077’s ratings in the middle east, a new song by samurai, and the Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition Console and an awesome add on it comes with all in todays Cyberpunk 2077 News!

First up we have a reddit post which got a ton of traction online and that we actually covered in the past Cyberpunk 2077 Community Podcast. In it the original poster had translated what appeared to be a new GameStar+ podcast featuring Miles Tost and Philipp Weber.

Now GameStar+ is premium paywalled content, and so non-members actually didn’t have access to it, and additionally it was all in German. It was mistranslated, but not before it was picked up by a ton of people including big media outlets.

Now the stand out points from the article were that Cyberspace Netrunning battles would involve summoning RPG-esque creatures, and programs, that thousands of NPCs had daily routines and that the melee system had received a big overhaul. What most people didn’t see however, was Senior Quest designer Philip Weber addressing this information on reddit and twitter as being mistranslated. In a response to a VG247 article containing the misinformation he responded specifically to the Cyberspace battle part as information based on a mistranslation and that it is not correct.

The reddit user directly apologized to Weber to which he responded with no problem at all, just wanted to make sure to clarify so the proper info is out there. I can’t go into detail how these systems actually work, but I am sure there will be more news about Cyberpunk soon with the Night City Wire. SO essentially take all this information from this thread with a grain of salt.
I know we were pretty excited about this info on the last podcast even though we did mention that it wasn’t confirmed, but hopefully battles in cyberspace, npc routines and the melee system are still going to impress however CDPR chooses to implement it.

Moving on we have some updates via the IMDB page for Cyberpunk 2077 on potential new characters. We’ve talked about updates to the IMDB page a couple of times before with characters like Vazquez and Doctor Paradox popping up on the page, but this time we have what seems to be an Asian woman named Wakako Okada played by Ren Hanami as well as Mateo played by Antonio Alvarez. Obviously not much to note about these characters other than they have appeared on the page and may be in the game and that there is quite the cultural diversity so far, which is on par with the diversity we’ve seen so far in 2077 footage.

Moving on we have a brand-new song release from Samurai, Johnny Silverhand’s band in Cyberpunk 2077. This is still as far as I know unlisted on the Cyberpunk 2077 youtube channel, and is named the Ballad of Bucky Rogers? Here’s a snippet of this brand-new rock song by the REFUSED who are creating the music for the fictional in game band.

Next we have a new rating board giving Cyberpunk 2077 the go ahead to be released. The UAE who have historically been pretty harsh when it comes to games ratings did not ban Cyberpunk 2077 from being released their, so for my middle eastern friends you won’t have to jump through hoops to get your cyberpunk fix. This is coming off the heels of the middle east banning the last of us 2. We’ll leave the speculations on why to the community and chalk it up as a win for CDPR’s upcoming title.

Next up we have some news about Stadia. Cyberpunk 2077 will not launch on Stadia, on September 17th and has been pushed back till an unknown date at the end of the year. There doesn’t seem to be an explanation from google either, so if you are a stadia player, that’s a definite bummer. Stadia has been a pretty big failure on google’s end, and I don’t really have faith in the product. If you do own only a stadia but want to play 2077 on release on a budget consider getting a cheap console.

Segwaying nicely here we have the release of the Xbox One limited edition Cyberpunk console that was just released. Not only does it look high tech, but there’s also a ton of easter eggs on the console itself when its under a UV light. Not only does the console look great, but it also comes with a free expansion. Some outlets were mentioning free DLC, but DLC is free for all, so yes the first Cyberpunk expansion that drops will be yours free of cost if you end up picking up this console. Stock seems to be going quickly, so if you get the chance to grab one it might be a good idea.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Killer Clown Gang, New Gang Logos & MORE!

New official Gang Logo images, A Cyberpunk 2077 PC modding contest, some hints into seeing the Bozos, an insane clown gang in 2077, CDPR setting a new record, Gang logos & more all in today’s Cyberpunk 2077 news video!

First up let’s jump into the new PC modding contest announced by CDPR yesterday morning. This is a contest where you can design the Cyberpunk 2077 PC case of your dreams, and five professional case modding teams will make the best entries come to life.

Megacorporation logo, and on the main contest page, CDPR has attached these assets. We get to see updated looks at the logos of the gangs we have already seen, and some that we haven’t as of yet.

First up we have the logos for a new gang we haven’t seen yet called “6th street”, we have the muscled up juiceheads from Pacifica, the Animals, we have the body mod obsessed Maelstrom from Watson, we have the Moxes, which seem to sport the Lizzy Wizzy logo and might be related to The Lizzies somehow, we have the Arasaka backed Tyger Claws, from Japantown, The womanizing seduction specialists the Valentinos, and the Haitian hacker-extraordinares the Voodooboys from the Pacifica district.
These are all fantastic and I cannot wait to see some of these new gangs in game. Keep in mind these are only the main gangs, and there will be sub gangs and factions prowling night city as well.

Now speaking of Gangs, as you guys know RTalsorian the company who has licensed the Cyberpunk IP to CDPR, has been making a lot of Cyberpunk Red miniatures as of late in collaboration with monster fight club. Cyberpunk Red is a tabletop primer to 2077, and so it gives us a ton of hints about whats to come in Cyberpunk 2077.

The Bozos a killer clown gang from the lore, seems to be one of the most requested gangs in 2077, and here we see a couple miniatures from the Cyberpunk Red series which leads me to believe we will see these in the video game adaptation. First we have this more traditional penny-wise looking clown, and this augmented really colorful clown with what seems to be a squirtgun. Yes squirtguns are also in the lore, and they are typically filled with drugs, so I’d imagine this will go nicely with the Mr Studd augment for those who want to mess around and make their playthroughs a little more meme-friendly.

Moving on, check out this Cyberpunk soundtrack snippet featuring Mr Rubin who I believe was or still is the drummer for Nine Inch Nails. If this is any indication of the more punky, rock tracks in 2077 I’ll be pretty pleased.
Next up, check out some of this dedication to what seemed to be a leak of what is essentially Cyberpunk 2077’s Disneyland equivalent being built in Poland to support the game and CDPR. NightCityLife, german fan-site for Cyberpunk painstakingly set up this incredibly elaborate April Fools prank.
This fabricated leak featured tentative plans for CD PROJEKT to open a Cyberpunk 2077 nightclub in Warsaw which included a game café, a disco bar and a shopping arcade.

There were concept art pictures drafted up and a ton of promotional images and supposed evidence on socials that were absolutely amazing. Just look at this concept art, and some of these drink label designs. This was all called the Red Diamond, with the Game cafĂ© modelling a netrunner themed coffeeshop, The Atlantis bar and disco, and merch via vendors in a remodeled section of Night City. There were a ton of people in on this, and I got to say, It was very convincing. Although, I’m not sure how popular a bar and disco would be amongst the gamer demographic, which kind of put a pin in this for me personally.

Incredibly well-done April Fools nonetheless, but let me know if you guys would enjoy something like this in the real world or even elements of this prank in the game. SOulkiller polish craft eer and blackhand whiskey sounds pretty awesome to me.

Cyberpunk 2077 Lore – The Rocker Movement & Origins!

The origins of the term Rockerboy, the whole movement behind being a Rocker, Johnny Silverhand, Kerry Eurodyne & Samurai as well as some of the rebellious tunes filling the streets of Night City in the time period of the source material Cyberpunk 2020 which will seep into Red and 2077 will all be discussed in this Cyberpunk 2077 lore video!

The rocker movement of the 2020s was a period of time where civil disobedience, violent revolution and freedom of speech was brought about the artistic integrity of what we now know as rockerboys and girls. This period of time showcased Rockers achievements in combatting malicious and insidious governments and awakening the general populace to their vile habits, and propensity to hide their dark truths.

The term Rockerboy, who is any artist using their music or artistry to fight authority, was first brought about by James “Rockerboy” Manson who is often considered the definitive rocker as his death in 1997 defined the terms for those who came after.

Many performers during the time of Manson were afraid to perform in America mainly due to death threats from the military government. Manson’s paranoia was justified however as he was publicly clubbed to death by armed British Security thugs at an Amnesty International concert.

One of the groups which rose from the ashes of this event in their allegiance to the Rockerboy ideals was a band called Justifiable Homicide, whose first album Jury Trial released in 1998 and was a success both commercially and as a statement. It ended up being a classic album and influenced a generation of Rockers who grew up listening to it. The message of the album was for a rework of the criminal justice system after their lead singer lost family to the military government over what he believed were benign charges.

In late 1999 a group of militant Catholic Rockers called the Watchmen released their two albums, Sign of the times and revelation, which received universal acclaim even from the harshest of critics. Beginning with the trial of the Watchmen, the military government came to the conclusion that to protect their self-interests, volatile Rockers careers should have abrupt ends, if they tip the scales and step out of line too far.

When the civilian government was largely re-established by 2008, the music scene exploded with now infamous Rockerboys including Johnny Silverhand and Kerry Eurodyne leading the charge with the band Samurai. Starting in 2006, Samurai released 6 albums with 3 being studio work and the other 3 being concert and jam sessions optioned by their label Universal. In 2008 Samurai broke up, but this was not the end for Silverhand and Eurodyne who both had massive solo careers.

Silverhand released 6 albums of his own between 2008 and 2020, but none was more provocative and respected as SINS of your brother. A botched blackmail attempt led Silverhand to dive into the real causes of prior wars exposing the USMC for their lies and their experimental cybernetics and cyborg programs.

Justifiable Homicide the lost nineties band previously mentioned had been hiding in Mexico for years during this time, playing the crowds they could find there. Mexico City was being rebuilt by American Nomads, so the band immediately had many of them as their following.

Former Samurai member now turned media bigwig; Bes Isis was in town reporting on the Nomad underground scene. One day, she witnessed a frail young teen walk into a bar and collapse. Revived by Bes, he told the story of 600k people marooned in SouthAm, many of them walking almost 3 thousand miles to get home. The band and Bes joined some of these Nomads along the way, and many of these stories were mentioned in Justifiable Homicides second major label release The Long Walk, released in January 2012.

This catapulted them back into the limelight, but also back into the crosshairs of the government who were anything but pleased.
2012 was a seminal year in the rockerboy movement. In 2012 the Arasaka Riot inspired by Johnny Silverhand himself took place where 15 people died. The watchmen were released from jail after spending 5 years in braindance. They released an Album called betrayed, and 6 months later the whole band was wiped out by a swiss solo, rumored to be associated with the Vatican secret police.

In 2016, rockers moved back into harsher protests as nanotechnology was starting to instill fear in the people. Stranger Inside me a band which targeted the anti-biotech audience lobbied against biotechnology through their music, which they felt was eroding what makes us human. In April of 2018, the first commercial braindance label DMS released the debut disk of KIDROK a 14-year-old prodigy. All 18 minutes is a Frankenstein of music and braindance called Bleeding Soul. Although Braindance is expensive, its looking to penetrate the market soon ushering a new wave of rockers and musical experiences.

Cyberpunk 2077 – TOP 10 Things To Look Forward To In 2020!

With 2020 around the corner here I thought it would be the perfect time to countdown 10 of the biggest things to potentially look forward to in the New year when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077. In the Top 10 things to look forward to in 2020 Cyberpunk 2077 end of the year video, we’ll go over CD PROJEKT REDs plans and some speculation about what we will be seeing in early 2020, whether thats gameplay, screenshots, more of night city or even characters. Now some of these are more or less confirmed, whilst some involve a bit of speculation so keep this in mind.

Cyberpunk 2077 – 4ÆM & Behind The Music Analysis! (The NET, Lizzy Wizzy & New Characters!)

Today we are briefly analyzing the Behind The Music trailer from Cyberpunk 2077 and CD PROJEKT RED featuring the announcement of Grimes, Run The Jewels, ASAP Rocky and other artists being featured in Cyberpunk 2077, as well as the performance and visuals of the Grimes song 4aem showcased at The Game Awards.

So first we are going to go over the performance of 4AEM by Grimes, because its chock full of potential Cyberpunk 2077 lore implications. Right off the bat we have Grimes, with a stark red background reminiscent of the Blackwall from the Deep Dive. This is a form of ICE software which is currently keeping out the malevolent AI from The Net in 2077. This is most likely the Net as hinted at by CDPR, and may have something to do with the quarantine zone behind the Blackwall just because it is so red. We see some sort of digital blue particles dropping from the sky, which starts to proliferate and spread across what is presumably the Net cityscape. Now the people walking around are not entirely blue, but when grimes’ steps into the bathtub in her performance, in a netrunning sequence, she takes shape in the net using these blue particle effects. Again, we know this is netrunning because she steps into a bath, similar to how V gets into the bath and plugs in during the Deep Dive. I do also want to mention that the trailer is based loosely on the world, so it’s also very possible that this is being showcased in a purely visually capacity and has less to do with the world and story as we’re making it out to be.

Grimes has also been confirmed to be Lizzy Wizzy, so its safe to assume the Icon that’s present in the net that represents her is of Lizzy Wizzy, and not Alt Cunningham like it initially appears to be. Now Lizzy’s Net icon or avatar is a little different from the one featured in the Cyberpunk 2077 e3 2018 trailer, however the look id similar to the one on some of the posters in Night City. Now when it comes to who exactly Lizzy wizzy is I want to highlight this interview with Patrick Mills with NightCityLife where he reveals that Lizzy Wizzy is also this woman. He also references full body conversions. Now with braindance being so popular and Lizzy Wizzy being a famous popstar, this could mean that Lizzy Wizzy is also a braindance recording artist. We see skin and chrome as a braindance in many of the trailers and demos, so this could be the reason we see a full chromed out Lizzy wizzy which contrasts with her more humanoid form. It could also just simply mean that Lizzy wizzy swaps from full body conversions or her augmentations frequently, and again has many different looks similarly to someone like Lady Gaga in terms of a modern-day fashion parallel.
At 1:16 we see the blue effects on a tower that appears to be owned by Arasaka. As we continue, we start to see a freeze frame of a very much living and breathing city. We see a bar, some streets, the NCPD, and this guy who reminds me a lot of this guy from the 48-minute demo.

We also see 4 new characters. The first is someone who instantaneously made me think of Saburo Arasaka. Regardless if he is Saburo or not, he likely works for Arasaka. Next, we have an Arasaka Riot Officer which we’ve seen before in the cover of PCGamer. The 3rd character seems to be an augmented Asian woman, again potentially working for the Japanese megacorporation. Arasaka did break into warring factions in the 2030s so maybe she even opposes them. Finally, we have the Maelstrom ganger character with half his face missing and spikes protruding out of his head.
Moving onto the Behind The Music trailer we have a ton of graffiti sporadically popping up between cuts.

We do however get A bunch of images of the Lizzies which seem to be either a poser gang that models themselves after Lizzy, a crazy fan mob or the name or Lizzies band. It’s unlikely it is Lizzies band because it’s been stated that Lizzie and the Metadwarves is the name of said band, but things could obviously change.

In a prior video we saw this same Lizzy Wizzy skull on a sticker for a gang called the Mox, so this might also rule out the Lizzies being a gang and gives more credence to them just being a group of rabid fans

Cyberpunk 2077 News – NEW Music Teases, Most Wanted Game Award & New Content Soon?

Eargasmic NEW music teases, cyberpunk 2077 collecting some accolades at the Golden Joysticks for the second year in a row, some hints of new Cyberpunk 2077 content dropping soon, a tour of the CD PROJEKT RED studio in Warsaw, Keanu Reeves revealed as starring in a beloved franchise and much more all in todays Cyberpunk 2077 News episode!

Getting right into the news, we first have Cyberpunk 2077 claiming the Most Wanted Game at the Golden Joystick Awards for a second year in a row. This is an award based on public voting, which I made mention of a couple weeks ago, so congratulations to CD PROJEKT RED for winning the title an ousting other titles like Hytale & The Last Of Us 2. During the pre-show of the Golden JHoysticks we also got an exclusive look inside CD PROJEKT RED with UK Head of Communication Hollie Bennet taking us through the studio.

We didn’t get any interesting Cyberpunk 2077 tidbits, but the studio has a really relaxed vibe to it. You know it’s a wholesome environment when a large feature of the studio consists of plants and puppies. Take that poor working condition accusations.
Next up we have some art posted by the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter page, which comes from an artist inside the studio. This is an obvious reference to Bladerunner and was posted with the caption of Roy Batty’s monologue from the movie. Naturally, I think there has to be a Bladerunner Easter Egg featuring this origami unicorn in the game. It’s also a good sign for those who like philosophically complex issues that arise from what it means to be human. If you guys don’t know the symbolism behind this origami I highly suggest watching the original Bladerunner.

Next up lets get into some of the new music teases dropped by CD PROJEKT RED’s music team. Words really can’t describe how moody yet energizing these tracks are so here’s some snippets of 3 songs, 2 of which are very very recently posted.

Next we have some potential Cyberpunk 2077 info coming to the Winter Dreamhack in around 2 weeks from now …

Next up we have some quick fire news so pay attention. According to Philip Weber on the CD PROJEKT RED forums, you will be able to sprint in the game, and you can also chain this into a slide and finally a crouch. Apparently this looks pretty badass.

Next we have this image for Corpo Agent Meredith Stout lovers that show how the source material of Cyberpunk 2020 has influenced 2077. The picture on the left is Ivana Brandt from Night City stories found by GenericName232 on reddit, and the right is the Stout we know and who some love very dearly on the right in 2077.

Next we have Keanu Reeves starring in the new Spongebob Movie which I have to say actually looks pretty good. Keanu is really hammering out the projects as of late, so if you grew up watching Spongebob, heres another incentive to go watch the movie.

With 5 months left if you are looking to kill some time, The Witcher 3 is also coming to Xbox Game pass, so if you haven’t played this legendary RPG before, first off what are you doing with your life and second go and play it on December 19th when it drops.

CD PROJEKT RED has also upgraded the site in reference to their Capture Cyberpunk photography contest.

CD PROJEKT RED is also now hiring a cinematic animator on a contract basis, so if you are qualified or know who is, this might be something to look into. If you get hired you might even get to play with Kimchi.

Next we have some Countdown to the Dark future episodes featuring what has happened in the world of Night City prior to Cyberpunk 2077.
