In Today’s Cyberpunk 2077 video we are going over everything you need to know about E3 2019 that we currently know going into it, from facts, to rumours and leaks. This is obviously going to be hyper specific to CD PROJEKT RED and Cyberpunk 2077. CD PROJEKT RED has claimed their biggest E3 ever, and how can you not when you have a massive poster like this enticing E3 attendees in LA, so let’s get into what we know about E3 2019 thus far.
Let’s start with June 9th where we will most likely see a Cyberpunk 2077 showcase or presentation of some sort at Microsoft’s E3 briefing. Rumors and speculation is a gameplay and or CGI trailer of some sort, gameplay showcased, and a possible release date. This showcase will likely be longer than what we saw last year with just the minute and a half E3 trailer at the end.
A NeoGaf user who claims to be an insider also mentions a gameplay trailer, a progress update on the game and a tentative release window. If you guys want something fun to do during this conference check out our friend NightCityLife’s E3 2019 Bingo card for Cyberpunk 2077 and play along.
Earlier yesterday we saw our first leak of what could be the collectors edition that could possibly be announced at E3 with this image online. In the original post the user says A friend of mine sent this to me over Discord. It’s in Polish which is why the logo on the bottom-right is CD Projekt instead of Warner Bros as CDP are publishing the game in their homeland of Poland. This looks really well done to be a fake especially the little Night City postcard render and the artbook cover. The fact that they’ve got this ready to go makes me wonder if we’ll be seeing a release date for 2020 at the Microsoft Presser. What do you think, Era?
Some users speculated that it might be a fake or a standard edition instead of a CE and put it next to a Witcher 3 standard edition, which it looked very similar content wise to. The “collectors edition” leak has been debunked by CDPR community manager Lilayah as not being a collector’s edition, but it still could potentially be a standard or middle tier version. There was also an image of a big box leaked online featuring Cyberpunk 2077 but the concensus seems to be it being a press kit or promo display materials for a game store post E3 since the background seems to look like a Gamestop or EB Games.
When it comes to the on floor event for attendees at E3 CD PROJEKT RED has confirmed that they will have a public showcase for the first time. They are partnering with Warner Bros their North American Distributor for a Cyberpunk 2077 public showcase where people at the event will be able to check out the game, being played by CDPR staff in the (South exhibit Hall?). There is also a private demo in the business area, which will be on hour long and will be shown off to influencers and media, but again not playable as staff will be guiding the demo. These events will not be streamed live or uploaded after the fact.
So what’s the difference between the public and private demo? The private demo is likely longer than the public demo but other than that CDPR can obviously not tell us at the moment. They are both held in theatres however. I found some images on twitter from CDPR reps and employees that have shown off what these booths could look like and they feature a really awesome samurai design. They are also sporting the employee jackets which seem to be reversible from the last news video we were speaking on.
Now for us at home, CDPR has also said there will be surprises and content for us as well and that we should not worry and that we won’t be disappointed. The game has become Quite Different than last years demo and this is likely due to them fully fleshing out some of their Work in progress mechanics and designs.
Now moving onto June 12th we have 2 notable CD PROJEKT RED and Cyberpunk 2077 events, that you guys are going to want to participate in or keep your eyes on.
First we have co founder and jouint CEO of CD PROJEKT RED Marcin Iwinski at the E3 coliseum with Geoff Knightley to hold an event called the past present and future of CD PROJEKT RED. If you guys remember last year Kyle Rowley and Miles Tost were on the Coliseum. The presentation will last 30 minutes and we will most definitely get some more in depth answers than last year about the game where they were incredibly vague and couldn’t answer anything other than rudimentary questions.
Next we have a Developer Q&A via Tumblr. As far as I know you need a Tumblr account to ask questions and I’m not quite sure why they chose Tumblr, but hey if you guys want your questions answered go ask them here. Also please look at official FAQs and videos before you ask questions because I know there will be a ton of questions they’ve answered time and time again, especially if you guys are just learning about 2077 to go check out some resources, videos, FAQs before you ask via this platform.
In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk 2077 News video we have a cryptic tweet sent out by CD PROJEKT RED and Cyberpunk 2077 and some clarification and debunking about it, a new game design job listing from CD PROJEKT RED, an Alienware training event and a potential 2077 leak of sorts, some Cyberpunk forum answers including aesthetic and design changes, and some Countdown the the dark future details highlighting a cataclysmic event in the lore of Cyberpunk.
First we have our art section where we highlight some community creations focused on Cyberpunk 2077.
Getting right into today’s News segment we first have an interesting leak via reddit that was later deleted involving Alienware and Cyberpunk 2077. This was initially discussed on our Cyberpunk 2077 community podcast, so thanks to Mad Queen and IvanGT on twitter for some of these developments.
In this deleted reddit thread a verified Alien ware employee created a post titled “attended a training event for my job last night – I have reason to believe Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out this year”. Again this is from a verified used and goes on to say Attended an alienware hardware training event last night and they had promotional material for their new laptop plastered all over the wall – a cyberpunk 2077 edition that was coming later this year but they couldn’t tell us when or what exactly the partnership would entail, and they had not received permission from CPDR to announce it yet. Our trainer implied that they would announce the hardware partnership when CDPR announces a release date – which isn’t too far away.
Next we have Cyberpunk 2077 tweeting “Soon, Soon” early last week with seemingly no context until some clarification later in the thread, where they mention it’s in reference to the opening of their US Merchandise store.
Now I was in the Cyberpunk 2077 discord as people were speculating on this when Lilayah, CD PROJEKT REDs community manager tried to clear some confusion. She mentions that it was supposed to be a reply in the thread and not its own tweet.
Just as an aside to tweets that the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter has made, I’ll also be keeping my eyes out for a potential dev diary or documentary from the CDPR team based off of this tweet saying I hope CDPR and Cyberpunk teams are making a documentary like how Santa Monica studios did with God of War to which they responded with “who knows…”
Next we have a new job listing for a lead game designer for CD PROJEKT RED. This was found by a subscriber of LastKnowMeal’s and highlighted in one of his videos so you can check that out for additional information and more dedicated coverage. In essence this is a listing for a lead game designer who will help guide the team and supervise the design of gameplay systems and online mechanics in CD PROJEKT RED titles. Some of the responsibilities include directing the gameplay design around fun mechanics, reviewing gameplay and balance, and ensuring that the design and gameplay experience are of the highest quality.
Recent leaks are also suggesting a teaser of sorts for the new IP will be dropped at E3 2019, but then the rumor goes on to say it will release in 2022, after CDPR has explicitly said by 2021, and that they are focusing on 2077 for this particular E3, so take it with a grain of salt.
Next we have some official forum answers from again Lilayah CDPR’s community manager. In a thread regarding if ideas pitched within the forum by fans during the developmental process was incorporated Lilayah says that we will leave that for you to find out.
In a question regarding aesthetic and design changes to the game and some concerns that the game will deviate from what the original poster thought was an amazing gameplay reveal aesthetic, Lilayah responds that changes are super common to pretty much every single aspect, which includes art and graphic designs. This hints at some aesthetic changes for likely the better when it comes to 2077.
This comes along with recent news of the game being quite different than before, and some older news from Adam Badowski specifically mentioning that after the release of the 48-minute gameplay reveal that they will still be modifying netrunning, how weapons behave, driving physics, facial expressions and animations, and that what we’ve seen is very much a draft version.
In our final forum question we have a revelation that CDPR will have something exciting when it comes to cosplay in the future so keep your eyes open, your sewing machines ready and your cyberware nearby. This hints at a cyberpunk 2077 cosplay competition of sorts.
Finally, we have some countdown to the dark future episodes regarding an important moment in the world of Night City called The Collapse. This is a series dedicated to understanding RTlasorian Games source material of Cyberpunk 2020 which Cyberpunk 2077 is largely based on.
In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 News and Details video we are looking at 2019 release date news, Cyberpunk 2077 merchandise, Cyberpunk 2077 achievements and if they will be present in the game, some accolades for CD PROJEKT RED employees, some Cyberpunk 2020 Megacorporation updates and some details about if we will get closed or open beta or Battle royale mode for Cyberpunk 2077.
Next let’s talk about some 2019 release date leaks / details that have been uncovered by Triple S League. This is a channel which has uncovered some rumors and leaks in the past regarding Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer and a potential social hub aspect, and in general do some great detective work so shout out to hem for this particular find. In this find they looked into a company called Territory Studios which has done the logo and identity work for CD PROJEKT RED.
Now on their site, they have a brief vision statement of their work with CD PROJEKT RED, and talk about their collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED. At the end of this statement however, they leave us with “Unveiled at E3 2018, we look forward to a 2019 release”
Territory has since deleted the 2019 release aspect of it.
A release date can only be properly revealed by obviously CD PROJEKT RED, and all of these leaks and details when it comes to release dates are with a huge grain of salt.
Next we have Mateusz Tomaskewiz as being named in the top 30 under 30 for Forbes Europe. As lead quest designer for the Witcher 3 and quest director for Cyberpunk 2077, this guy really does deserve the recognition.
Next we have some brief twitter questions, some which may be obvious and some which may not be. First we have a question from a twitter user, asking about collector’s editions. CD PROJEKT RED responds here that they will see about special editions. If they can come up with something cool, then sure.
Next we have a question regarding Cyberpunk 2077 merchandise. we had a question if there will be Cyberpunk 2077 merchandise, to which CD PROJEKT RED says stayed tuned.
We also talked about Epic Stores not having exclusive rights to Cyberpunk 2077, and it looks like CD PROJEKT RED won’t be pulling a Thronebreaker either, with having Cyberpunk 2077 a GOG exclusive.
Next we have some information via Discord about Voice Actors. There will only be one VA for the male and female characters, and obviously for different languages there will be a VA for each of those.
Next we have a couple more details via twitter. It seems obvious that Cyberpunk 2077 wouldn’t find a way to squeeze in an unfitting Battle Royale mode, but they’ve confirmed that they don’t like the idea either. Cyberpunk 2077 twitter has also mentioned that there will be no closed or open beta, which shoots down the chances you’ll get your hands on something substantial before it’s ready.
Finally, we have some details via twitter again about PS4 trophies. The Cyberpunk 2077 twitter responds to this question saying it’s safe to assume there will be trophies.
Now we can also assume with this that if PS4 has trophies, Xbox will have achievements and so will Steam.
Finally, we have Cyberpunk lore details via RTalsorian Games.
In these recent episode they’ve been talking about Megacorps. Megacorps are the law in 2077, with many of them operating like fully fledged nations and governments.
In episode 53 We learn about Network News 54 which is featured in the teaser trailer.
A small group of corps own these media networks and thus control and influence the public opinion to an extreme level.
In episode 56 we see 7 of the most prominent and powerful megacorporations.
EBM which is a reference to IBM is the world’s largest manufacturer in the Cyberpunk world.
Zetatech is a new megacorp or at least was in 2020, specializing in software and hardware technology.
Orbital Air has several orbital facilities and offers Cargo and Passenger transport with their low orbit flights.
Microtech maybe a play on Microsoft is a mainframe workstation designer.
Biotechnica owns the super fuel of the future CHOOH2’s license and is involved with genetic engineering and biotechnology.
Infocomp is a datafirm which records all forms of knowledge to store.
