In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 lore we are talking about all the districts in Night City as well as the subdistricts, what and who you can find in these districts, as well as all the details that are unique to each of night cities vibrant locations!
Cyberpunk 2077 News – Exclusive Developer Interview, Pacifica Lore & Netrunner 2077!
An exclusive interview with Miles Tost at the Cyberpunk 2077 Community Podcast a couple days ago, some new screenshots of Night City, some Pacifica Lore, a new CDPR collaboration as well as a new hub I want you guys to check out to quench your Cyberpunk 2077 thirst all in today’s Cyberpunk 2077 news update!
First up we have the Cyberpunk 2077 Community Podcast’s exclusive interview with Miles Tost, senior level designer at CDPR. Overall it was a really good time talking to Miles before, during and after the show, he was super chill, friendly and expressive in his answers.
Going over some of the more stand-out points we have a very interesting tidbit about the Witcher vs Cyberpunk. In the Witcher he got to the point in development and through memory where he knew most if not all the outcomes of quests, locations of loot and collectibles and just a feel for everything in the world. With CYberpunk Miles mentions that there are things all the time that he stumbles upon that are new to him, and that he finds more organically.
Now this is pretty crazy because if a high up level designer feels like there is exploration available to him, I wonder how many different outcomes, situations, real time events, are going to be presented to the player at all times.
Miles mentions that out of everything, that CDPR has really nailed the Cyberpunk atmosphere. He has particular praise for not only the visuals, but also the sound design, including the ambient noises of Night City and recommends that a good pair of headphones are a must. Although you can swim, the game is not about water exploration and it only services the believability of the world. If you were to jump into the water and get hit with a black screen and reverted to a checkpoint that would harm immersion.
If you go on a rampage and start shooting civilians, Miles mentions that the apex of the NCPD the psycho squad will come to stop you before you create tooi much destruction. Although you will not be able to go cyberpsycho, you will get branded as a cyberpsycho and you will be hunted down like any other Cyberpsycho.
Environmental destruction which was shown off in most of the demos so far is still very much a part of the game, and Miles mentions that he believes its been tuned up even more to make combat feel more reactive and engaging.
Enemies will be able to utilize the same abilities that the player can use on them, with the example being getting hacked as well as both kerenzikov and sandevistan time altering augments.
The typical mini-games of racing, hacking and the shooting range have been revealed, but Miles held some of this close to the chest to not spoil it, which might mean that there are even more mini-games than what have been publicly mentioned thus far.
The whole map of Night City does open up after the prologue but expect some areas to have high tiered enemies and bigger challenges similarly to The Witcher.
There are some more details here so as always I recommend you check out the Podcast in it’s entirety before we got shut-down by NetWatch. Link in the description for all the developer goodness.
Moving on we have some new details on the district of Pacifica, the Combat Zone of Night City.
“Pacifica was supposed to be Nigh City’s money making vacation resort – a true paradise catering to corporate employees and tourists alike with it’s golden sandy beaches, luxurious hotels and unmatched entertainment. Until it all went to hell that is.
The dream came to a painfully abrupt end after uncertainty struck the global economy and corporate investors pulled their funding for the project. Construction work stopped, leaving most buildings unfinished, forever to remain the hulking concrete and steel shells they were at the time. Instead of teeming with tourists, the district is now overrun by poverty, violence and gangs.
It’s here that Voodooboys, a techno-mystical group of netrunners, chose to set up their base of operations. Originating from the Haitian community that settled in Night City after their homeland was ravaged by climate disaster, they took it upon themselves to protect the local community, forsaken and left to fend for themselves by the NCPD.”
Moving on I wanted to feature a new community website called Netrunner2077. This is a community cyberpunk 2077 hub that I think you guys are going to really enjoy. I’ve been following this project behind the scenes for a while now, and Ani HVX who has created this site has put in a ton of work featuring lore, news, fan content and everything you could want within the realm of Cyberpunk 2077. Me and the rest of the community podcast guys also play a role in the Black Wall section where you can find our creator pages in an official capacity in collaboration with Netrunner2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Map Districts, Dual Wielding, Aldecaldos, Wraiths & MORE!
TONS to go over today including a flurry of new images, screenshots and concept art from the World of Cyberpunk 2077, news on if Dual Wielding will be implemented for the player, a district feature on the Badlands, the political nature of Cyberpunk and what to expect when it comes to political discussion in Cyberpunk!
First up we have a ton of art via the world of cyberpunk 2077 book which has been released in Germany and will release in North America in roughly 4 days here. First up let’s take a look at Cyberpunk 2077’s gangs. First we finally get a glimpse of the Aldecaldos who are a nomad faction who reside out in the Badlands. More on the badlands later, but these guys are essentially the smugglers and mad max-esque characters in the world of Cyberpunk. They control a large amount of the shipping into and out of Night City, and we even have a panzer boy tattoo on one of the members arms, which is slang for a person who smuggles goods.
Next we finally get our first look at the Wraiths who are a part of the Raffen Shiv. These guys are particularly psychotic and the most feared of the Nomads out of all the various Nomad Nations.
Moving on we have the fan favorite the Tyger Claws, another fan favorite with a picture of one of their sports bikes, along with the scavengers who look significantly more augmented than when we first saw them in the 48 minute demo.
Next we have the combat veterans in the 6th street. Again these guys see to be mostly humanoid and lack the amount of cybernetics that the other gangs have. Experimental cybernetics were used on veterans of the central and south am wars, so it’s likely this is the reason that the 6th street seem to abstain from most types of chrome.
The opposite mentality can be seen here with the Maelstrommers, who are heavily into augmenting anything and everything on their body.
Next we have the Moxes, the Voodooboys and the animals all of which we’ve seen before, and honestly guys I’m a big fan of the diversity in each of these gangs and I don’t think there is one we’ve seen so far that are lacking in their design or I struggle to understand their motives and niche in Night City. Curious to see which out of these are your favorite and why?
When it comes to the map there is various pages with districts and their subdistricts which has been collaged together to make a comprehensive map.
We also have some Arasaka content including a super stylistic picture of this Neomilitaristic interior, everyone’s favorite full body conversion Adam Smasher and this Arasaka trooper sporting a unique weapon, as well as a katana. Speaking of Katanas we have a myriad of colorful options from Arasaka here.
Next we have some Net images. Our first image is of a level 5 netrunning suit, which looks very similar to the Netwatch agency Bryce Mosely’s from the Pacifica demo, the net itself, as well as what could be some Militech Netrunning gear.
We also have some prominent characters including Mox Braindance tech Judy Alvarez, Solo turned head fixer at The Afterlife Rogue, and founder of Night City Richard Night.
All in all there are some amazing shots here as you can see on screen, so I definitely would look into picking up this book in the standard or deluxe version if you are into art and the lore. I have a link in the pinned comment under Cyberpunk 2077 Products, so feel free to check that out.
Moving on we have a quick little tidbit from CDPR confirming that there will not be dual wielding in the game. I’ve been getting asked this question a lot and NPCs like jackie can be seen dual wielding but this does not seem to be something that the player can do.
Moving on we have some district lore this time on the Badlands. Badlands are the vast plains just outside of Night City. Sparsely populated by Nomads, they make the city proper seem like a lush oasis in comparison. Still, this place’s got plenty of life left in it, as well as heaps of golden opportunities for those in the know.
You see, Nomads aren’t the only ones who call Badlands their home. Wraiths, a gang made up of exiles from local tribes and families also live here, and are the main reason behind the disappearances of many a corporate transport. Everybody knows that crossing into their territory without an armed escort — and a small army — is just asking for trouble.
Unchecked resource extraction and derelict oilfields dominate in the north. The east, wastelands full of chemicals and landfills reign supreme.
Finally, there’s the desert to the south. It owes its much less apocalyptic vibe to the many Biotechnica protein farms, as well as the Jackson Plains power plant.
Finally we have an interview with Pavo Sasko via SpidersWeb.pl where a question was asked about if the Black Lives Matter movement fostered any changes in the upcoming game, and the political structure of Cyberpunk’s narrative.
Cyberpunk 2077 News – Quest Completion Details, Trauma Team, Lore Screenshots!
MORE images and details on the world of Cyberpunk 2077 via the upcoming lore book, details on the main and side quests and a surprising way you can actually finish the game, some district lore this time featuring Heywood, an incredible new trauma team statue with some in-world implications!
First up let’s dive into some very colorful new screens from the World of Cyberpunk 2077 as a German YouTube channel uploaded a brief look at it’s pages since apparently it’s been released there already. Our first new image here is a Kiroshi Optical ad here, with a fighter pilot using a Kiroshi visor on his helmet. Augmentations are shown off here and we have a better look at the gorilla arms and fists.
Kiroshi has yet another advertisement in here, but this is my favorite one because of the parallels it draws to many of the source material augmentations. On the far left we have what seems to be 2077’s version of the mirror shades that are not only iconic of the cyberpunk genre as a whole, but of 2020’s Kiroshi OptiShields as well.
Next we have these Spider-eyes again an evolution of Cyberpunk 2020 in the Bug eye augmentation from the Chromebooks. Now a lot of these augmentations are likely just going to be for in game advertising, and probably won’t be available to the player which I do want to mention. I know we had the taser nipples in a prior episode, and that could again just be for the in world advertising and not something the player can actually get. Far right we have optics with 4 irises and they are tinged red, and to be honest I don’t have a clue what this would be for. My best guess would be that they are likely used for low light situations.
We’ve already talked about this scene showcasing braindance addiction and for this poor guy on the left hand side, he’s so engrossed in whatever he’s doing he’s flat out pissed himself.
Another interesting new detail we get from this overview is the new vehicle manufacturers. We pretty much already know about Yaiba, quadra, archer and thornton., but now we can add mizutani, villefort, chevillon, mahir and makigai to the lineup of vehicles.
The world of Cyberpunk is not just about Night City and the surrounding badlands. The rest of the world is still chugging at their respective paces and it seems like this book will give us context on how the rest of the world is dealing with their own unique circumstances and problems. On this page it mentions that in 2073, airship fuel consumption has tripled to presumably ship plastics to australia.
There’s also an ad for real water, which we have seen in the broll footage that we analyzed as well as a very intimidating picture of Placide. It seems like there is an augmented hyena on the bottom here based on some of the concept arts where it shows Voodooboys keeping hyenas.
Finally your mind is never safe in Night City so we have yet another ad this time showcasing a storage service for the mind, to protect yourself from getting data extracted from you.
Moving on we have some new details via Pawel Sasko in an interview he did with spidersweb. We already know that side-quests can have ripple effects that will effect the main story line, but it seems that in some instances, the main quest doesn’t even need to be completed to actually finish the game.
Moving on check out this new statue on the CDPR gear store featuring the Trauma Team. Interesting thing about this is that if you take a closer look at this detailed statue, you’ll see some 2 important characters from the Cyberpunk Universe. Nadia and Mason who are the main characters in the Trauma Team comic book are both written onto their respective helmets, which are again an indication that these guys are going to be prominent in CDPR’s story telling.
Nadia, an assistant EMT for a privately-owned business known as Trauma Team International, is the sole survivor of a failed rescue mission turned shootout.
After she agrees to continue work for an upcoming extraction mission, Nadia discovers that her new extraction subject is Apex–the man who’s responsible for Nadia’s former team members’ deaths.
Moving on we have a district feature, this time on Heywood via Twitter and the CDPR forums. They describe this district as follows. “Heywood is a district of contrast. In the north, near City Center, you’ll find lush parks and modern skyscrapers towering high above. As you venture further south, however, the views change drastically, with dangerous and unwelcoming slums dominating the scenery more and more. Still, Heywood isn’t all bad even with gangs like Valentinos and 6th Street roaming about – if you know your place and keep your head low, that is.
The districts been dubbed “the biggest bedroom in Night City”. That’s because most of Night City lives here.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – VIBRANT Open World Content, NEW Screenshots, Watson District Lore!
Exciting Cyberpunk 2077 details including just what kind of different open world activities, random encounters, quests and side jobs we can do in Night City, Some beautiful new screenshots from CD PROJEKT RED, some details on the district of Watson with some screens and concept art of this melting pot district, and a ton more unique details you may have missed from previews and hands on events all in todays Cyberpunk 2077 News Video!
Before we get into it check out this response to Kanye Wests announcement that he’s running for presidency by the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter page. As we know Cyberpunk 2077 is based on the source of Cyberpunk 2020 and the dark future, so they decided to respond with “sooo this is how it started” insuniating that a Kanye presidency is this timeline’s beginning of the DarkFuture. Definetly some pretty on brand humor from CDPR, which I think we can all agree was a top tier tweet.
Now First up we have a feature from CDPR on the district of Watson explaining the district where V’s apartment resides as follows. “Watson used to have it all. Nightclubs, skyscrapes, corporate offices, a top-end medcenter – even the biggest black market in Night City. Japanese corporations competinv with Arasaka invested billions of Eurodollars in the district, intending to make it self-sufficent and prosperous.
Everything changed when Arasaka returned to the city after the Unification War. It bled other corporations dry and changed Watson forever.
Today, Watson is a sad and deseperate place. It’s one of Night City’s poorest districts and it’s a battleground between Maelstrom and Tyger Claws.
Maelstrom settled in the Northside Industrial District. It’s filled with factories (most of them abandoned) and working-class apartment blocks. You can also find the well-known Totentanz bar here.
Tyger claws operate from Little China and Kabuki. Little China used to be an extension of downtown; It’s a high density urban region with skyscrapers, overpopulated with Asian immigrants during the late 2040s.
The rest of Watson is the Arasaka waterfront. An area off limits for non-employees.”
Moving on we have some of the open world activities that were noted by Journalists who had a chance to go hands on with cyberpunk 2077. Some play testers wrote down each of the open world elements as a comprehensive list, and although there could be more this is a really good sign to the diversity of things to do in Night city. Going down the list we have Main jobs and side jobs, gun for hire or mercenary quests, search and recovery quests, thievery, agent saboteur and SOS quests, Mercs needed, special delivieries, assaults in progress, Cyberpsycho sightings, clothing sotres, ripperdocs, techies, weapons and gun shops, trainers, foods and restaraunts, bars and other side quests.
During the Nomad playthrough, there was a segment where the Snake Nation was mentioned. Now we know the Wraiths and the Aldecaldos are the nomad factions that have been confirmed for Cyberpunk 2077, but hearing a reference to some of the other Nomad nations might give some insight into them showing up at some point during the game. The snake Nation in 2020 was the largest Nomad nation that was created as a response to the Nomad Movement in North America, led by a man named Freddie Douglas.
Now during the Nomad Lifepath previews prior had mentioned attempting to smuggle something into Night City, which we were for the most part never made aware of as the reader. It turns out this was an Iguana, who are now rare because they had seemingly gone extinct over 30 years ago.
At 26 minutes in, Alanah mentions that a Red had told her about a Forza 4 styled driving build for vehicles.
We’ve all seen the Maelstrom 48 minute demo, and again a Red mentioned to Alanah on her playthrough that there were 7 different outcomes of that particular quest. This is insane for the potential of branching narratives, replayability and repurcussions to your actions. One scenario ended with Militech storming the lair and fighting the Maesltrom as you simply looked on.
Some of the loot included condoms, burritos and handcuffs, and there will be a sell all junk button to streamline the selling process at vendors and stores.
When it comes to Melee and Boxing, there is a questline which starts off with the training robot in your apartment. After you’ve completed that, you will move on to a kind of street brawling tournament which begins with fighting the oscillation sync twins in Kabuki.
There is a TV talk show in the world where ARasaka employees are discussing the morality and ethics of the relic chip. It was allegedly created to house the leader of Arasaka’s consciousness. This explains why Silverhand who died at the hands of Adam Smasher is on the chip, and the end of the Cyberpunk 2020 timeline.
Cyberpunk 2077 News – “Reaver” Vehicle, The Badlands & Wraiths + Cyberpunk Red Delay!
Our FIRST look at Cyberpunk 2077’s “Badlands” + what seems to be a customizable Wraith vehicle known as The Reaver! It seems like there is a massive Mad Max styled open world desert beyond the city to explore! Small map who? The graphics and detail are AMAZING!
Also some disappointing news from RTalsorian about a Cyberpunk Red Delay!
Cyberpunk 2077 News – Devs CONFIDENT, Kids In 2077, LE Console!
Developer chatter on Twitter about the state of Cyberpunk 2077, some new merchandise including an official Xbox console and Headset, Cyberpunk Red miniatures and augmented kids being possible for 2077, more gang lore, rating agencies and some info about where Cyberpunk 2077 is truly an 18+ game, some music teases and more in todays Cyberpunk 2077 News!
First up we have the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter releasing some more Gang lore, this time about the Animals gang which we have seen in the Deep Dive video. The Animals are an aggressive street-fighting gang from west Pacifica that eschews the use of traditional cyberware. Instead, they use ultra-testosterone and animal supplements (like growth hormones). They’re animalistic at heart and dangerously proud of who they are.
In the demo these steroids were called Juice, so I’m not sure if this has changed, but regardless love their logo and their ideology.
Moving on, as we all know Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to come out a week or so ago on April 16th, and for a while now we know that this date had been pushed back to September 17th so CDPR can focus on bug squashing and optimization. There was some speculation that we might get something Cyberpunk related on this date to tide us over until the marketing starts to ramp up in June, but This wasn’t the case as a Where’s Johnny meme was posted to their socials, meaning we’ll have to wait a bit longer for Cyberpunk content.
With that being said, it seems like the developers are talking about Cyberpunk 2077 a little bit more recently, with many of them being incredibly confident in the potential of the game. Pawel Sasko also retweeted this list of Top 10 RPGs of all time, mentioning that when 2077 comes out this list will be outdated. It will be worth the wait seems to be the common theme amongst CDPR and its staff.
Moving on we have the release of a couple of Cyberpunk products in the Johnny Silverhand controller, the Limited-Edition Xbox One X console as well as the official Cyberpunk SteelSeries headsets. The limited-edition console was the product of an Xbox ARG where the Game Detectives an online puzzle busting discord group cracked the code to unveil the unlisted Console Trailer. The console comes with a Silverhand controller which can be purchased separately, and for what it’s worth I think the controller is more my style than the console. In any case if you are in the market, check this out, but I’d probably just wait on next gen, unless you don’t have any way to play 2077 at the moment.
Moving on we have some rating agencies news as there was an alleged Instagram story pinning Cyberpunk 2077 at a Mature rating in North America and some insight from Brazilian classification that it will not be recommended for those under 18. Now the Instagram story has subsequently been deleted from the Cyberpunk 2077 official page, but the Brazilian ratings seem to carry a bit more information on where Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be more mature, and where it seems to be a little bit more age friendly. Of course, this is all relative since the game is adult in nature. JordanMK over on reddit gave us some addition insight into the age recommendations on some of the themes in Cyberpunk 2077, so I’ll post the age indicators for each on screen for you guys. Now obviously Brazil looks at these different elements with a different lens than north America would, but it does seem like this may be similar to The Witcher in terms of violence, nudity and language.
5 Reasons Cyberpunk 2077’s Open World Will Be The MOST BELIEVABLE World Yet!
Today we are going over 5 BIG reasons the Open World of Cyberpunk 2077 Is going to push the boundaries on believably, design, visual design and density of activities and why the World of Night City and Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be the most realistic RPG game city.
When it launches in September of 2020, the world if finally going to see Night City for the first time, and really soak in, to what degree CD PROJEKT RED has improved upon their open world design prowess that was first shown in The Witcher 3. With such a bombastic change in not only the narrative in an augmented future, but also the infrastructural open world design of a bustling city surrounding it viewed from the first-person perspectives, this is new territory for CD PROJEKT.
The first reason that the open world of Cyberpunk 2077 pushes the boundaries, is in the team filling the open world with meaningful content. There is a ton of emphasis on the term meaningful, and you could spend hours in the Witcher 3 simply eavesdropping on interesting and expansive conversations expressed as ambient noise in the background between NPCs. At the precipice of The Witcher 3’s production, The Open World team was established and going into full production with this hand-picked team is going to make Street stories, side activities, vagrant mini-games and even aforementioned ambient conversations beaming with diversity, color, life and disguised as opportunity situational nuiances. This is a big reason we as a player will be getting side-tracked into the depths of Night City, forgetting all together the progressions of the main plotline. The Witcher 3 is arguably more memorable with all the marbling of a thick cute of kobe, and I think the Open World Team is a progressive move in never wanting to trim the fat of a true open world.
With this known and with the violent exposure of toxic tailored advertisements, product imagery and marketing slapped across every knock and cranny of night city, the In Games Ads team plays a pivotal role in making Night City as much of an antagonist as a Corporate big wig or ‘dorphed out booster ganger.
The in-games ad department is a separate entity, and is responsible for designing realist in game ads for the world of Cyberpunk, and their dedication to believe-ability, and their technical skill and creativity in combination with the rich lore makes the ads in Cyberpunk as visually provoking as it is thought provoking. If you’d like to know more about all the Ads seen in the almost hour long demo of Cyberpunk check the pinned comment for that video.
Next we have the hiring of actual city planners in building Night City from the ground up. From everything to realistic layouts for easiest flow of traffic, to positioning of buildings and points of interest that would make the most sense to even priming it properly for organic growth just like the ongoing construction efforts in real cities, CD PROJEKT RED has thought about everything here. This even begs the question of if consistent growth or pivotal changes in the city can lead to infrastructural changes as the franchise develops in future iterations of Night City, whether that’s in expansions, sequels or multiplayer. This is dedication once again to the believability of this world.
Next we have the sheer vertical scale of Night City, which will set a new precedent for open-world verticality. Night City features 6 Districts across a map teeming with Skyscrapers that reach for the heavens. While The Witcher 3 was known for its expansive Horizontal scale, Night City will feature vertical exploration through these megabuilding sans towering structures which will be teeming with life, quests and things to do. With the Badlands , the romping grounds of the Nomads highlighting the fringes of the playable map, there has yet to be an open world environment featuring this cyberpunk staple of mile high verticality. CD PROJEKT REDs John Mamais has even mentioned that The Witcher feels almost like a 2D game in comparison, to highlight just how different our traversal will be. CD PROJEKT RED has continually mentioned high quality exploration, and is looking to stay with their rule of encountering something eye catching, every 30 seconds within this vertical exploration.
Finally we have No loading screens, which is the holy grail of an Open World Game. Being able to seamlessly transition from skyscraper to ground to various districts, locales and regions without a momentum killing loading screen however quick it may be may very well be the cherry on top of the already heavily decorated sundae that is Cyberpunk 2077. Now whilst this is not necessarily revolutionary and has been done before, this in combination with the ambitious scale of the entire project is only natural!
