Cyberpunk 2077 News – Daemons & Cyberdecks, 60 Perks, Religion & Keanu In What Game?!

In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 news video we will be going over a ton of new gameplay elements, The Bozo gang, Daemon Programs, Skills and Perks, Religion being involved and clarification on how it will be implemented, Keanu Reeves almost being cast in another game, pre order bonuses and more!

First up we have an interview around E3 from our good buddy Andre from NightCityLife a German Cyberpunk 2077 fan-site, who sat down with Miles Tost the Senior Level Designer at CD PROJEKT RED to talk specifically about Hacking.

The first question was about just how many things in the world of Night City we could hack. With the E3 demo including a large variety of environmental tech to hack like the weight training bench and the training bot, they wanted to find out if hacking things like phones, ATMs and billboards would be viable.

“If you want to hack an ATM, you first must find the access point, which controls the machine. Certain hardware can be instantly hacked, but only when it’s connected to the network and you will have to gain access to that first.”

Miles also references something akin to “Hacker mana” where to perform a certain hack you need to consume certain points.

While lethal and non-lethal hacks are part of the game, they are all tied to specific programs called Daemons which can be bought an installed into your cyberdeck.

Next up we have news that Keanu Reeves was almost cast in another triple A title coming out next year which may have impacted him even being in Cyberpunk 2077 as the snarky Rockerboy Johnny Silverhand.

Next up we have some more details from NightCityLife and Miles Tost. Now at this point we all know the Voodooboys are of Haitian descent and have taking refuge in Pacifica. We also have further details that they have moved to the US because Haiti is underwater due to global warming. The voodooboys of 2077 are not precisely the frat boy drug lord terrorists of 2020, and Miles Clarifies that this is 50 years in the future and it’s the same timeline but there is a lot going on with the Voodooboys.

Next we have a ton of details about Cyberpunk 2077 that we have yet to cover. We won’t go over repeated points from this article that I’ve made in previous videos so if you want even more details I suggest watching these 2 videos to catch you up to speed on all the gameplay mechanics and details from Cyberpunk 2077 we have learned recently.

Next we have some brief new details about Jackie Welles, our Hispanic companion we’ve come to love from the 2018 demo and 2019 CGI trailer. This is via a new cosplay guide where his bio is as follows. “As a teenager Jackie joined the Valentinos gang, but ditched it after a few years when his mother found out. He always wanted to be his own master so eventually settled on a career as a mercenary. Friendship, loyalty and family ties are what drives him. To Jackie, blood is always thicker than water. He’s a rock-solid, composed professional who respects other mercs. Eventually he wants to provide for his own family and live in luxury, but he’s getting impatient because this is still just an elusive dream.”

Honestly he sounds a total bro, and the part about him ditching the gang life because he was scared of getting an ass whoppin’ from his momma is pretty funny as well. Better be dodging those high velocity sandal rounds from Momma Welles.

Next we have some clarification on what exactly CD PROJEKT RED meant when they brought up the fact that religion will be present in the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – AMAZING Developer Answers & Details! (Quests, UI, Weapons, Clothing & MORE!)

In Today’s Cyberpunk 2077 News and Details video we are taking a look at 2 articles which I stumbled upon after my last News update featuring Alvin Liu which gave a lot of amazing new details which I thought It deserved it’s own segment, just because there is so much unique information to unpack here. One interview is from WCCFTech, and the other was a German site called PCGamesHardware. Now the German one has been roughly translated so take some of these details with a grain of salt, but let’s get right into some new information from the game we have yet to hear.

Starting with the WCCFTech interview. The first question from them is in regards to the E3 2019 demo and the dominant theme of people in the world attempting to upload human consciousness into machines to attain immortality.

Liu responds as follows. There’s a lot of things we’re trying to do. The Voodoo Boys specifically are very obsessed with that, but other gangs such as the Maesltrom gang we showed last year want to becom “perfect humans” We explore it all as it’s a very big game and we will talk about Transhumanism, and corporate greed as well.
When it comes to romances, Lu confirms that you can exhcnage money for sex, and that NPCs have been richly crafted in a similar way to Yennefer and Triss in diversity in regards to certain NPCs tou can romance.

Next we have a question regarding how many corporations will be in the game. Lu responds saying that he’s lost count and that there will be both big and small corporations. He references the standouts as Militech, Arasaka and Orbital Air oddly enough as some of the main entities. I say oddly enough because in our CYbeprunk 2077 community Podcast Cyberpunk 2077 community manager Lilayah kind of squashed theories that we would be heading to space, and Orbital air is a corporation in charge of this.

When asked if there are factions beyond gangs and corporations, Liu mentions the Nomads, who have very strong ties to family and community and reject being a corporate slave or even working for gangs. Liu mentions we will be able to go to the outskirts of the desert in California and see things like power plants, and abandoned highways. He also mentions this is the best place to max out the speeds of your vehicles since It is hard to do in the city.

In a questions about commiting crimes and if the police come after you, Lui mentions that if you start to wreck havoc in a big town, people will come and try to stop you and they are pretty powerful, and mentions that Trauma Team is one of these enforcing entities. If you are in an isolated area, it’s comparable to the witcher in that if you chop the head off a villager in the middle of nowehere, guards wont just magically show up.

They also ask if it’s possible to get arrested and go to jail, to which Lui coyly mentions that he can’t spoil anything about that. Maybe we get locked up in the slammer and depleted of resources if we take it too far.

As far as dynamic weather goes, Night City is incredibly polluted, and has acid rain as a feature and they’ll be some exploration on pollution, and global warming.

Lui also mentions that the entire city is unlocked from the get go, and that the UI will help lead players to different locales. You will be able to see all these higher leveled characters and enemies just like in The Witcher, where you could say go to Novigrad or Skellige underlevelled but you may have a hard time actually completing any of the quests.

Difficulty settings were also something mention by Liu where he speaks on the fact that there will be multiple difficulty settings, and that there is a hardcore mode where the UI is turned off, which will be a real challenge. They also want to make the game accessible to those who aren’t accustomed to shooters with smart weapons which help you aim.

He also mentions a FoV slider, and subtitles for people who have trouble reading some of the smaller text in the game.

Lu also speaks on unlocking super rare outfits due to super high street cred and being able to see this with mirrors in game and via the character inventory screen. You will also be able to craft and modify your weapons. For example Alvin Liu mentions that you can change a guns ammunition to thermal bullets which light on fire because they’ve built up so much heat.

He ends this particular interview by mentioning that they are showing off ray traced emissives, sky light and ambient occlusion and that he’s seen screenshots internally that have looked better than the demo, so that it’s still a WIP and they are still upgrading the visuals.

Next lets jump to his answers in the PCGameshardware interview.
Our first new interesting detail is when they ask about how open the world of Cyberpunk really is, and what paths we could have taken during the E3 2019 demo.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – 3 Cyberpunk Projects, New Screenshots, Sex & Romance & MORE!

In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk 2077 News we have yet another densely filled News episode for you guys including details about 3 Cyberpunk games in development for CD PROJEKT RED and clarification on exactly what that means, Refused as the in-game band Samurai, the full release of Chippin In by CD PROJEKT RED and the Samurai EP details, a full analysis of new screenshots from a German Magazine , Cyberpunk 2077’s prologues and how they are connected to lifepath choices, A Cyberpunk 2077 movie possibility, romance and sex options in Night City and much much more!
First we have new details via a Polish economics website called Bankier.pl writing about a CD PROJEKT RED meeting or conference where we learn about future Cyberpunk titles. Now earlier in the week it was largely reported on from a Google translate version of this Bankier Article that CD PROJEKT RED was currently developing 3 Cyberpunk projects including Cyberpunk 2077.

This information comes directly from CDPR president Adam Kicinski who mentions that there are 3 teams working on Cyberpunk “Things – the main game and two more projects.”
Piotr Nielubowicz also stated “Our next big project will also be in the Cyberpunk universe, and we’re already working on it and treating it as a really big and innovative project for us.”
CD PROJEKT RED recently clarified to the media after the Bankier article saying that they have 5 teams in total with 3 focused on the development of Cyberpunk 2077, one for gwent and one for an unannounced mobile title in conjunction with Spokko. “These include CD PROJEKT RED Warsaw and Krakow handling the main game of Cyberpunk 2077, and the Wroclaw studio where there are 40 industry specialists engaged in research and development.”
Wroclaw is most likely for the Multiplayer component to Cyberpunk which may come out post launch.

Just as a final note, Kicinski also mentions in that the beginning of 2020 we will get a strong does of Cyberpunk information and that industry journalists will already be playing it and writing about it.

Next we have some details on the Music of Samurai a legendary rock band in the Cyberpunk Universe lead by Johnny Silverhand. CD PROJEKT RED released their updated version of Chippin In by Samurai who will be represented by the sounds of Swedish rock band Refused. This Chippin In version really represents the aggression of chromatic rock much better.

Further details from Marcin Pryzbylowicz state that the Samurai EP will feature songs such as Black Dog and Never Fade Away from the lore as well as songs exclusively created for Cyberpunk 2077.

Next we have a new screenshot via GamePro.de magazine from Germany. In this screenshot we see the arm of V breaking through the rubble of a seemingly deserted area of the outskirts of the city much like what we saw in the ending to the E3 2019 CGI trailer.

Moving onto the image itself we have a Militech revolver which we we can see being used by Male V in the cover art and by Dexter Deshawn in the CGI trailer. The figure looks like what Morgan Blackhand, one of the best Solos from 2020 lore would look like with his signature trenchcoat. If we zoom in, this could be blackhand based on a redesign.

Next up we have details of 3 separate prologues for the game based on the Lifepath options we pick at the beginning. In details from Pawel sasko he mentions that “The player in Cyberpunk 2077 can create a custom character that has one of three origin stories, that we call lifepaths: you can be Nomad, Corpo or Street Kid. Each of the Lifepaths have a different starting location and story background that are strongly connected with the origin story. Anything more I say can reveal too much from the story, so I will leave it like this.” We also know from previous statements that our outfits will be different based on our Life path options.

Next we have details about romances, sex, NPC and getting friendzoned in Night City. Again from lead designer Pawel Sasko we learn a little bit more about how relationships have the potential to unfold. Pawel says NPCs will have their own goals, motivations and needs and thus there will be scenarios where NPCs will choose a friendship over a relationship.
He goes on to mentions that some relationships will be hard to cultivate and that NPCs will have some preferences that are impossible to change which leads to characters feeling genuine and real.

Next we have some weapon customization details. Mateus Tomaszkiewicz spoke to GamingBolt where he said that you can customize your weapons in a variety of ways including scopes and silencers and specific weapons will have a certain amount of slots for these.

Moving on we have some details about the nature of Cyberpunk and Cyberpunk 2077 from the man himself Mike Pondsmith. In some recent articles he dives into the expansiveness of the world, the politics of Cyberpunk and the potential for a Hollywood movie for Cyberpunk.

CD PROJEKT RED & Keanu Reeves – The Bird & The Breeze!

In today’s video I wanted to highlight CD PROJEKT RED and Keanu Reeves and compare and contrast as to why they are a match made in heaven, who have both gotten to where they are by being authentic, down to earth, hard-working , devoted to the audience and consumer, and how Cyberpunk 2077 will be better because of it.

Let’s start off with the Incredible accomplishments + humble beginnings of Keanu Reeves and CD PROJEKT RED individually.
Keanu had a fairly rough childhood where his father left his family at the young age of 3, as well experiencing the loss of a childhood friend to a drug overdose just to name a few. Keanu had always loved Drama class and he eventually dropped out of high school to pursue his acting career, where he found his niche in action movies and had his big breakthrough in The Matrix as Neo and later as John Wick. These roles have reached such legendary status that the mere thought of Keanu and 90% of us instantly attribute him to one of these epic roles. The Matrix was my favorite action adventure movie through my childhood and so I know whenever I see him, despite the beard and long hair I still see Neo. As for people who have taken a loving to John Wick they see him as the unstoppable assassin avenging his wife and dog. This is the status that all Hollywood actors desire, to play a part so well it becomes deeply engrained in the minds of the audience long after the credits roll.

On the flipside, let’s take a look at CDPR. CD PROJEKT RED funnily enough started in an environment of the slim pickings of socialism in Warsaw. Marcin Iwinski and Michal Kicinski founded CD PROJEKT in May 1994 and were initially acting as a distributor of foreign video games for the domestic market. It wasn’t until 2002 that CD PROJEKT RED was formed where they started developing their Witcher games. By luck or fate they created the Witcher series based on reused code from a PC version of Baldur’s Gate: Dark alliance. Fast forward to 2015 and beyond and CD PROJEKT RED’s name is synonymous with attention to detail and the ability to blend narrative driven story telling with a sprawling RPG world.

Next Let’s dive into how Reeves and CDPR operate off the set and out of the Studio. On numerous occasions Keanu Reeves has taken paycuts for movies he has filmed in the past to allow for there to be a budget to hire actors who would fit that particular movie. Reeves took a 2 million paycut in The Devil’s advocate so that the studio behind it was able to hire Al Pacino as the lead. For a movie called The Replacements he took a whopping 90% pay cut so that Gene Hackman was able to be signed for the film. On the set of The Matrix, he gave a struggling set builder a 20k bonus to help make ends meet. He also bought employees who he thought were most deserving Harleys during the shooting of the second Matrix movie. Keanu also runs a private foundation that funnels money into a couple childrens hospitals and for cancer research.

Contrast this to how CDPR treats it’s community and nurtures it’s environment. CD PROJEKT RED has been steadfast in delivering incredibly high quality games to the consumer, DRM free. This is in essence means you could theoretically pirate the game and play it for free if you wanted to, and that there are no checks like internet connections or the need for discs to be present for you to enjoy their content. CD PROJEKT RED is also firm on not having predatory micro-transactions which is akin to gambling for kids and pillage the consumer for the benefit of the bottom line of profit. They treat their fans with respect. When it comes to treating staff, while there has been some sort of backlash on this subject, they have mentioned numerous times that employees leaving are a part of the process, and that game development is an industry not for everyone. Their future mission statements are even deeply steeped in the progression for their staff to be happy, healthy and creative.

Finally let’s talk about future expectations and growth mentality of Keanu and CD PROJEKT RED. Now obviously both of these entities have come together for a reason. CD PROJEKT RED has also stated that if it wasn’t Keanu, it wasn’t going to be anyone for his character in Cyberpunk 2077 Johnny silverhand. Not only is this due to the reasons that are apparent on the surface, acting chops, fitting the role, or bringing together people who focus on telling a raw story, it’s mainly because both Keanu and CD PROJEKT RED have “made it out” despite trials and tribulations, but It never changed their resolve. They both continue to go out, to forge, to create and to entertain. These are the types of companies and people that become a success but don’t uproot everything and everyone around them to do so.

I can’t think of a more dynamic duo in the gaming industry at the moment, if not for their raw talent, but for their support of their communities.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – TONS of Developer Answers & Details! (Customization, Weapons, Gangs & MORE!)

In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk 2077 video we have a super packed news episode for you including leveling up your weapons and weapon proficiency, an entire recap and breakdown of the 2 hour podcast featuring CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 community manager Lilayah where we learn a ton of amazing details, a tweet of things to come, The Tygers Claw Gang, Cyberpunk Red’s new box art reveal, a huge info dump from Pawel Sasko the Lead quest designer for Cyberpunk 2077 + more!

Getting right into the news we first are going to go through some of the pivotal questions and answers from our Q+A session with Lilayah from CD PROJEKT RED.

The first question we got answered was in relation to the music direcion. The direction has changed drastically. Refused is the first band they are collaborating with and Refused’s music will be represented by the Samurai band in game.
Lilayah also mentions that based on these details that the 2019 Chippin in version will be the one they use in the game and the 2018 version has been scrapped.

Next we have a question about why Johnny Silverhand has dark hair in 2077 when in the source material of 2020 he has blonde hair. They will explain this in game in depth in game, but Lilayah drops a hint that The immortality chip has gone from hand to hand and this could be the reason why Johnny is no longer blonde.

When it comes to how much of Cyberpunk 2077 is CDPR’s vision compared to Mike Pondsmith’s vision, Lilayah mentions that it’s more like a 75 / 25 split in favor of CDPR with Mike confirming that things don’t break the universe.

When it comes to explaining the lore, they will have lore explanations as part of their content drops.

Apartments unfortunately won’t be customizable and we can only have on apartment overall, but they have an internal decision to make regarding vehicle customization.

Our next new detail we learn from Lilayah is that Cyberware can also be removed and replaced.

Map size is a question CD PROJEKT RED has gotten frequently. When asked about the Badlands Lilayah mentions that the nomads will play a larger part in the story.

When it comes to the dismemberment system, you will need powerful weapons to actually dismember an enemy. You won’t be able to harvest body implants from the body.

When it comes to space travel, Lilayah mentions we wont be able to go to space in 2077.

With the introduction of potentially having non-binary characters, V will still be called V although they are still writing the dialogue.

When it comes to gangs, the 6 districts will have a main gang or gangs, and there will be sub gangs like the scavs in each district. The Tygers claw and Valentinos are the new one that seems to be just as big as the voodoooboys and maelstrom.

Clothing wise, yes you will be able to swap out clothes at any time and the lifepath option you pick will change how you are initially dressed.

Surrendering to the police and wanted levels won’t work like they do in GTA, but you will have to hide and lay low if you create too much destruction in Night City.

Next we have an interview with Miles Tost where he explains a very interesting gameplay mechanic. In this interview Miles mentions that Weapon skills increase from usage, and the more you fire or use your weapons the more proficient you will become at them like in real life. As you train and use your weapon the crosshair gets smaller and tighter, accuracy increases, recoil drops and reload speed increase. The shooting range and boxing arena will be a way to train these mechanics and feature an increased learning speed buff.

Next we have even more developer answers to questions that the twitter community have been firing off to Lead quest designer for CD PROJEKT RED Pawel Sasko,

First we have a question from a user asking if you can dress like a corporate, to which Sasko responds that there will be a ton of equipment options including corporate attire.

When it comes to vehicles Pawel mentions that you are able to buy vehicles in the game, although some unique ones can only be obtained in quests.

Next we have a couple quick details.
We also have some of the audio designers from CD PROJEKT RED taking in some of the sights and specifically sounds of Tokyo.

Before I forget I also wanted to add in one more thing, which is a new Cyberpunk 2077 article in a Chinese magazine showing off some new screenshots from the demo as well as the new Superbike in the game.

Next we have a tweet from again Cyberpunk 2077s community manager Lilayah cryptically hinting at something we will see very soon, with an image of the girl from the E3 trailer modyfing herself with her missing jaw. There’s been some speculation it’s a character creator, which Lilayah has debunked.

Finally we have the reveal of Cyberpunk Red’s box art for the Jumpstart kit coming out on august 1st at GenCon. We also get our first shot at the dice for Cyberpunk red.

Cyberpunk 2077 – E3 2019 Trailer Analysis! (In-Depth!)

In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 E3 Trailer analysis / breakdown will go through the E3 2019 trailer and in a follow up video the gameplay trailer and the showcase at E3 2019. As always we will pick apart all the details, things you missed and piece together the story in between. This is going to be a long and detailed video so grab a Ciderpunk or NiCola Soda and enjoy.

Our first shot of the gameplay trailer is an expansive shot of Night City. Now we’ve analyzed all the ads before so after this video go check that one out. For now we will only dive into the redesigns and the new ads. The only notable thing here is the change of color from the Arasaka sign and the Kiroshi ad redesign.

I have to say watching this in 4K is absolutely stunning. The game was announced to be 80GB in size and I’d imagine thats due to the explorability of all these floors and levels.

At 13 seconds we see the NCDP Aerodynes flying above. These are likely similar to the police aerial vehicles from the teaser trailer. At 14 seconds in we see a new ad with a bunny infront of an American flag. Due to the nature of the building it’s on, this makes sense and well get to that shortly.

At 15 we see the no-tell motel which is obviously has some sexual connotation. This is a brothel hotel of sorts and there is a ton more evidence as we go through.

At 17 seconds we see the first ad we didn’t get a look at in the All Ads explained video. It seems this man laced in gold is representing an Ad for Mr Studd, a sexual augmentation used in the source material of Cyberpunk 2020. We can also see the catchphrase all night every night distinctly.

We also see a sign for the Love Hub down below. In last years demo we saw the sign for the Love hub and entered it, so it looks likely we are still in the Watson area. We’ll get concrete proof of this later on/
Braindance is another advertisement we see within the city background. We’ve seen this before on advertisements from the demo, and it has a heavy presence. Braindance is a sort of VR on steroids that has high addiction potential.

As Male V pulls up we get a brief glimpse of the cabs logo on the side. It doesn’t seem to be the same logo from the Combat Cab service from the demo and the source material. It’s likely this is a new or redesigned cab service for 2077 as we fast forward a bit to see a Minotaur logo on the vehicle .

As we pull up to the back shot of Male V we can inspect his jacket to see it’s slightly different than the one from last years demo. This could possibly be the differences between Male and Female variants, variants in general or a redesign.

As the camera pans out we see a better shot of some joygirls and possibly a joyboy outside the brothel. These are in sessence the prositutes in the world of Cyberpunk and we see their hourly rate which is likely 120 eddies. I say 120 eddies versus 12 from a hint we will see later.

As Male V bangs on a hotel apartment door we see an image of the hallway. It mirrors the megabuilding the Scavengers were held up in the 2018 demo, at least aesthetically.

At 39 seconds, Dex’s bodyguard answers the door. We’ve seen him before guiding Female V into Dexters cruiser and potentially him pre cyberware upgrade due to his hands in the 2018 trailer. His hands in the trailer are Augmented versus the human hands he has prior. We also see his neck augment is made by Zetatech a prolific megacorp from 2020. They also own the Knowhouse that V lives in in the 2018 demo. Also he kind of looks like Jon Bernthal, and let me know if you agree in the comments.

At 43 seconds we see his Cybernetic hand and the fact that he’s plugged into something originating from his lower back.
At 51 we see a red light bed also further reinforcing the fact that this is a brothel. I’d imagine if we visit these areas in game we can bring back NPC for some extracurriculars.

At 57 we see apple is still alive and well in the future as Dex seems to be tracking his daily caloric goals. Or maybe it’s a new fitbit. Doesn’t seem like its working however and he still has quite the gut.
Male V seems to have brought back a chip for DeShawn. Now if we look at the description of the trailer on YouTube and descriptions of the main story of the game on online retailers, we understand what this could be. It says “Become V a cyber enhanced mercenary outlaw going after a one of a kind protype implant. The key to immortality”.

We also see Tbug helping out DeShawn. TBug was our netrunning companion that can be seen frying an araska agent in the 2018 trailer, as well as helping us pick locks and doors in the 2018 demo. She has a J.O.H.A patch.

Tbug proceeds to open a Trauma Team device to use in combination with what im theorizing is the key to immortality or something of the sort. Remember trauma team is a high end insurance in night city and will literally bring you back from death. This chip looks like its going to be used in conjunction with a TT device.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Where Can It Change & Improve In 2019?

In todays Cyberpunk 2077 and CD PROJEKT RED video we are talking about last years 48 minute work in progress gameplay demo, which spots stood out as a work in progress and some mechanics and details I hope they have improved upon or are shown better or more in-depth this year.

First up we have Enemy AI / Dumb Grunt Enemies not falling in with the lore of Cyberpunk. In last year’s demo, the narrator and Jackie claim we are meeting the Maelstrom gang a gang on the verge of Cyberpsychosis tricked out with high tech military grade equipment worth millions. When it came down to it though they acted like any other dumb grunt AI you would find in any other shooter. No unique abilities, no unique weapons or cyberware used against you and no nuinanced combat based on interesting things they would do. They would hide, look the wrong direction, stand still or look around all confused. Now I know for the ease of viewing the difficulty had to be turned down or this aspect might have had to be nerfed for the demo to showcase all the other elements and to proceed through it at a quick pace, but honestly the enemy AI and lack of their abilities made the gameplay look dry.

The next concern I have is them making the world feel large in a car. Now they have mentioned this before as a challenge for the game, and I’d have to agree. In the Witcher travelling over a more horizontally vast environment was long enough ontop of the fact that you would have to take a horse or walk. In Cyberpunk we have speedy super cars, bikes and aerial vehicles whizzing around at light speed through the air. I have no doubt that they will be able to make the world feel vertically large, but it has to have some sort of horizontal scale as well. I hope they make the city infrastructure so that there are a ton of roads and alleyways that weave around the city to make it at the very least feel horizontally substantial, but it is something I’m sure that is hard to implement.

Next we have More customization, sliders, options, clothing. The demo showed 10 different options for things like facial features and skin tones but as detail oriented as Cyberpunk 2077 is aiming to be, I think sliders to really nail the detail along with pinpointing how you want your character to look before loading in is just as vital. What we saw, whilst a good introduction of first step needs a dizzying array of options to match the style versus substance missions statement of the Cyberpunk genre. The vibrancy of all these options for ourselves has to match the vibrancy and level of choice once we finally get out there and this can only be matched with a lot of options in the character creation screen. Clothing is another entity by itself and since we have seen very very little of that so far, I’m not going to harp on it for too long, but again the more options the better.

There were repeat models in the demo wearing the same thing and this is a no go for the final build. Each character in Cyberpunk should be unique because that is the only way to stand out in this world of peacocking and elaborate fashionware trends.

Companion commands are something initially talked about in our Cyberpunk 2077 community podcast. This would be us directing our companions into doing actions in combat or during dialogue sequences. Examples would be to command Jackie to lift the car here, or TBug to hack the panel here through our own hotkeys or instructions. In the demo they are largely done autonomously and although this has to happen, there has been rumor of the companion command system being deeper than this. A small example is a dialogue option with Jackie where he tosses you the Air hypo, or you can choose to do CPR on Sandra yourself. Maybe without the air hype she would die and this causes consequences with Trauma Team later on, and makes a choice you made on your companions behalf have weight and impact within the narrative. I would like to see this explained better, or for it to be shown.

Next we have The Net as a 3D interface and an alternate reality instead of a jack in and click mini game. This style of jacking in is more of a Crystaljock method of hacking from the lore, so I hope netrunning is exactly as mentioned in the lore with the 3d user interface filled with icons, viruses and hostile netrunners to go to battle against. It has to be more than what we’ve seen and yes they specifically mention it’s a work in progress before this moment in the demo so it’s likely they have changed it.

Finally we have The gunplay. Whilst the sound design of the weaponry so far is fantastic, it does look a tad floaty and weighty. Even the scavenger boss doesn’t seem to know how to handle this huge weapon and it lacks the oompf or power a big gun like that should make us feel like it has. Yes he may have subdermal armor, grips, linear frames and borg attachments to take the brunt of the recoil, but we need for the shooting experience to feel more visceral.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Organized Crime Lore! (Yakuza, Triads, Mafia, Organitskaya!)

In todays Cyberpunk 2077 and cyberpunk lore video we are talking about organized crime and crime organizations in the world of Cyberpunk and how they run their operations and underground activities in throughout the world.

Organized crime groups are disciplined groups of criminals who run criminal businesses and enterprises with the goal of control, power and notoriety. They can operate anywhere from locally all the way up to internationally. Groups can have members that are all part of the same ethnic group, region, clan, or they can also involve people from various groups. These organized crime conglomerates can be called syndicates, mobs, cartels, families, clans, mafias and so on.

The most powerful organized crime crime groups of the 21st century are the Chinese triads, the Japanese Yakuza, The Russian Organitskaya and the Italian Mafia. There are other crime syndicates including drugs lords of peru, Colombia and southeast asia amongs others.

Let’s look at the big 4 global criminal networks in the world of Cyberpunk as well as the organized crime within the Unites States of America.

Within the big 4 we first have the Chinese Triads. The triads originated in the 17th century and were founded by several monks who despite their loyalty to Manchu emperors were betrayed when their monastery was destroyed and their fellow monks were slaughtered by imperial forces. They vowed to overthrow corrupt regimes and established a secret anti-Manchu society.

In the Cyberpunk Era the triads benefited greatly through overseas expansion into Canada, the US and New Zealand, where their participation in a war led to them becoming allies of corporations based in Hong kong.

Triads vary greatly on how they are structured as some are loosely organized and some are a structured hierarchy. The dragonheads which are the triad leaders usually lead a low key low profile life where they run a small business or restaurant to keep the façade of humility as they are running their operations in the shadows.
The triads are into a wide variety of criminal activities.

Within china there is a massie black market in weaponry, satellite dishes, cyberware, imported food and Japanese braindance, and they often dip into the vices of gambling and prostitution. They run smuggling operations, designer drugs manufacturing and house invasions amongst other things. In the United States the triads are the most brutal of organized crime groups, terrorizing or killing entire families as warnings to others. The big hitters of the Triads usually have cyber modifications and a wide variety of combat drugs to give them the edge in combat.

Next we have the Japanese Yakuza, a word which comes from Sammai Karuta a Japanese gambling game, in which getting 19 points is the ideal. Now I’m not sure if this is a mistake in the Wiki, but in real life the goal is to get 9 points. The worst hand is the cards of 8-9-3 pronounced ya-ku-sa hence the name.

The yakuza is spread globally in the same rate and scope as some of the most successful Japanese corporations. In the Yakuza, you choose two paths, death or prison.

The leader of a Yakuza clan is called the Oyabun who has his powere granted by the chief of the Osaka Clan. These chiefs are the alliance of Yakuza bosses overseeing worldwide Yakuza operations.
The Yakuza are into extensive body tattooing which is used to identify their clan affiliations.

Next we have the Organitskaya the Russian mafia from the new USSR. Organized crime is so deeply ingrained in the Soviet Union that law enforcement doesn’t take action unless mob wars break out.

The organitskaya are into smuggling and dealing weaponry, technology, food, aeroydynes, computers and western cyberware. The Organitskaya are not united and usually have internal conflict over control of military-grade weaponry.

In Russia the Organistkaya collect proctection money from 80% of the business in Russia, and have over 8000 syndicates with more than 180,000 members.

Next up we have the Mafia, an organized crime network of Italian origin in North America and Europe.
In Europe there is the Sicilian Mafia, The Neopolitan Camorra and the youngest faction the Nuovo Mafia. In the state of Italy, both the Sicilian Mafia and Camorra have become legitimate political parties.

The American Mafia’s origins trace back to the Sicilian clan-families known as the Coas Nostra. Due to the myth that the Mafia were non-existent, they were able to consolidate their power and adopt a cloak of secrecy.

The American Mafia is organized into families each of which owns a specific city. They are lead by a Capo or godfather who is always male, and his successor is always male. the mafia provides their community with services, goods and desperately needed loans.

Finally we have the sudams, who consist of Colombians and other south American drug cartels and their western offshoots.

Bad News For Cyberpunk 2077 At E3 2019 OR Community Over-Reaction?

In Today’s Cyberpunk 2077 video we are talking about the state of Reddit and to a lesser extent Discord at the moment when it comes to people losing their minds over some of the latest Cyberpunk 2077 news, and trying to put this “bad news” into perspective. I think a lot of online gaming communities tend to devolve into guilty until proven innocent mentalities when it comes to developers these days, for no fault of their own.

Now if you guys are unaware a lot of this backlash is coming off the heels of new knowledge that gameplay from the private demo and the public showcase at E3 2019 will not be recorded or livestreamed and posted online. This has led fans of CD PROJEKT RED and Cyberpunk 2077 into being pretty upset and concerned, Based off the fact that it took so long for CDPR to release their 48 minute gameplay last year after they showed it at E3 and Gamescom 2018. This along with recent statements and coupled with the fact that CDPR has promised their biggest showcase ever has left some people confused.

First off, we know CDPR are perfectionists, and they are going to take their time in development. Based off recent statements saying that the game is quite different and development is an iterative process, them showcasing it to a select few for opinions at-least initially is the same philosophy they had last year. Quite different means again that they are in the same boat as they were before they released their 2018 demo to the panels at E3 and Gamescom.

Next, We don’t know their E3 plans in the slightest. They are not showing the gameplay from the on floor event from 11th and 13th, but that does not count out the possibility of a general gameplay trailer, CGI trailer, screenshots, info-dumps, interviews, story details, dev diaries and more. In fact Lilayah the Cyberpunk 2077 community manager has even said that there will be content for those of us at home including suprises when pressed as to why the demos will only be seen by attendees. Remember Sony is not showing up. Cyberpunk 2077 will have to carry a lot of the weight

Now they have also claimed their biggest E3 ever. Again we do not know their plans for E3 but large elements of their marketing scheme is going to be shrouded in the air of mystery and surprise. They have said this publicly for some time as well as saying they will have their largest marketing campaign ever. Some of this marketing budget has to be allocated into giving us content at home, which make up 99% of the chunk of the people with eyes on 2077, a thorough look at E3. If these statements end up being false, I think there is a reason to be upset and I think some of the statements they’ve made in their marketing would be misleading in terms of the way it was presented.

As for right now, I think it is okay to dial back expectations like always. I do think this is a massive overreaction from people and I definetlye think it stems from the frustration of such a long wait, lack of news, and details and no supplementation through the months with screenshots, concept art or meaningful content we can visualize in the span between E3 and last year. This doesn’t necessarily mean doom and gloom and I think this rewards patience. With that being said lets wait until the entire conference unfolds to determine if it was a disappointing showing or not, and if the hype they have generated was justified especially in terms of them saying “their biggest E3 showing ever”. For now, sit back, relax and wait for E3.
