Cyberpunk 2077 Lore – Lazarus Military Operations Group!

Lazarus Military Operations Group or simply Lazarus group is one of the largest and most successful megacorporations dealing in military services and private contracting ranging from single solo operatives to entire army divisions. In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 Lore, let’s take a deep dive into this powerful entity.

Lazarus was the brainchild of wealthy inheritor Nelson Katzadoulos. With the instability of the 21st century ever present, there was a need for a mercenary organization that offered high quality services for upper echelon customers. Katzadoulos had a dream of offering the highest caliber of these mercenary and military services, something that made the existing companies that offered similar services obsolete.

Knowing nothing about leading a military operation however, Katzadoulos sought out Emile Lazarus, a former Colon in the Special Forces and Medal of Honor recipient. After a disastrous operation during the Second South American Conflict, Emile Lazarus became incredibly dissatisfied with the US military despite his love for being a soldier. He was hired to lead the operations and his renowned name was used to create Lazarus Group. Whilst Katzadoulos was the Silent partner taking care of finances, Lazarus began putting plans into motion for training facilities, and recruiting 5000 trainees who received 8 weeks of training from experts in military tactics and equipment.

During the 2010s the Lazarus group participated in the Central African Conflicts of 2013, the Urban Unrest of 2014, the 3rd corporate war and the European Brushfire Wars of 2018. With these constant operations, and successes, this catalyzed the groups growth into a powerhouse megacorporation in the 2020s with over a quarter million in troops.
Lazarus typically offers 4 “packages” depending on the needs of the customer, corp or government. This includes Solo operatives, small units and special teams, median forces, as well as large forces.

Lazarus trains its own operative and hires solos who already have a wide range of experience. The more experienced the solo is the higher his or her lease price. Since solos are sch a valuable asset, losing an experienced operative can cost Lazarus a small fortune. This means that part of this hefty fee is rooted in insurance.

Lazarus has a variety of different solos, with many combinations of race and linguistic ability to suit any situation. If you have a particular need or niche, Lazarus will have the operatives to fit perfectly into those niche situations. The more unique the skills, proficiency and look of a Solo, the higher the surcharge. These solos take out reconnaissance, infiltration, assassination, and investigative missions in a variety of situations including special terrain, airdrops, ocean infiltration among-st a myriad of others.

Operatives can deny a job, especially if it’s a suicide mission, but as an operative declines job after job their prestige and price drop proportionally.
When a single operative won’t quite get the job done and you are looking to upscale your forces, the small units and special teams’ package may be a more appropriate offering. Forces range from two to around 20 soldiers, but most of the contracts for this package involve teams of 2-6. These teams will run demolition, sabotage, hostage rescue and extraction missions.

If you are looking for between 50 to 1000 soldiers to do your bidding, the Media Forces package is the next tier up within the Lazarus ecosystem. These forces are used for a variety of purposes including area security, crowd control, assault, reinforcement and more. These units can have specializations, with can be leased out at an extra cost.

Finally, we have the Large forces which deploy between 2000 and 10k operatives. Typically, only big corporations, nations and governments ca afford this tier, with the largest package stretching to 20k troops at a cost of 100 million Eurodollars per month.

Lazarus has aggressive advertising on corporate billboards, and in the net to market and distribute its products and services, but their market strategy has to be balanced with recruiting troops as well. Because the pool of combat employees spans a wide spectrum, targeting the best and brightest and recruitment is high up on the hierarchy of importance.
Lazarus group has an exclusivity contract with Militech Corporation meaning that Lazarus uses Militech equipment whenever possible. Lazarus features their weaponry in advertising and in exchange, the group receives high quality gear in bulk at a discounted rate. Lazarus also conducts operational trials for Militech equipment and weapons.

Lazarus is headquartered in Rosslyn, Virginia, but they have Regional Offices in New York, Chicago, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Seoul, Cairo, Nairobi as well as of course Night City.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – “Reaver” Vehicle, The Badlands & Wraiths + Cyberpunk Red Delay!

Our FIRST look at Cyberpunk 2077’s “Badlands” + what seems to be a customizable Wraith vehicle known as The Reaver! It seems like there is a massive Mad Max styled open world desert beyond the city to explore! Small map who? The graphics and detail are AMAZING!

Also some disappointing news from RTalsorian about a Cyberpunk Red Delay!

Cyberpunk 2077 Lore – Raven Microcybernetics!

Raven Microcybernetics better known as RMC are one of the best American manufacturers of Cyberware, wetware and cybernetic electronics. They are on the cutting edge of technology and pride themselves on their quality control. Public image wise, they are known for their “shelf presence” when it comes to high quality cyberware, full body conversions, electronics, netware and ACPA components.
RMC is tightly tied to the mind behind it, Dr Corvus Crow, and policies as well as products mirror Crowes own personality. Oddly enough when RMC stock goes does, so does Crowes own health a testament to their interconnectedness.

Corvus Crowe found a name for himself amidst the chaos of the Wasting plague, the food crash, the 2nd central American conflict as well as the first and second corporate wars of the 21st century. He completed his doctorate at 19 and spent his early 20s working under Janice Grubb as a Software Engineer for Kenjiri technologies, when they were developing some of the first net interface algorithms. Judging by some of the products they produced during this time, Raven were on the cutting edge on how we perceive the net.

Soon after however Crowe left to found BioDyne Systems and Kenjiri ended up becoming one of the driving forces of Kiroshi Optics.
BioDyne systems was known as the corporation credited with creating the first viable cyberlimbs. In 2009 however, BioDyne systems was going bankrupt and Raven Micro cybernetics, one of the investment holdings, was declared an official corporate entity.

Raven Microcybernetics is not a well-liked company in the US in the 2020s as they are seen as a threat. Orbital Air is the most powerful corporate ally RMC has, and their large investment in space has ensured this support. This has led to the co-development of the Warrior and Crusaders ACPA Chassis. RMC is also friendly with Tsunami Arms, who provides the small arms that Raven needs.

Raven is headquartered in the Corporate Center of Night City, but their manufacturing plants are scattered throughout the globe. They own 3 orbital work shacks and rely on Orbital Air for space Transport. Ravens online data fortresses are represented by a cybernetic arm rising out of a grid, with a black raven with glowing eyes perched upon the hand. Their Dataforts are secured by black programs and 24-hour sysop guards.
Employees enjoy competitive pay, Trauma Team Coverage, dental plans, health insurance amongst a myriad of other perks. Employees dress in black or grey with small accents of white red or gold.

In 2077 content, we know that the Flathead is controller by an RMC system after Pawel Sasko mentions it in the Deep Dive Q&A.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Drunk Driving, Crucifixion, Genital Customization & Night City Wire Event!

Confirmation on a Cyberpunk 2077 Event where the game will be shown, an ESRB ratings summary which talks about some insane gameplay details, a massive new Cyberpunk fan film we have talked about in the past releasing a teaser, amongst a other tidbits from around the web about the world of Cyberpunk 2077 all in today’s Cyberpunk 2077 News update!

First up let’s talk about a tweet sent out by the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter on May 5th, with the caption simply stating GET READY with a tv emoji, showcasing a brand-new event for Cyberpunk 2077 called The Night City Wire. In around a month we will be getting some concrete details on Cyberpunk 2077, and CDPR have heavily hinted at it being a look at gameplay. My first initial thought was that this could be an in-game TV station giving us a peak into the world. Very excited for this and devs have been hyping this up as only the tip of the iceberg as well as again hinting at a big reveal of some sort. You definitely want to check this out, and I’ll be streaming this whole event with the Neon nation so make sure you pop in for that one.

CDPR also continued their lore series with the Voodoo Boys, a gang that we have seen in Pacifica. According to their description they are an enigmatic gang from Pacifica and aren’t just netrunners devoted to uncovering the secrets of the old net behind the Blackwall. They are also edgerunners: breaking every rule there is to break, and programming viruses that can freeze neural networks.

I know a lot of you guys absolutely love the Voodoo boys but drop a comment a let me know what you think your favorite gang is going to be based on these twitter lore snippets.
Moving on we finally have a concrete rating from ESRB after the Brazilian and Australian ratings were leaked and dropped, and surprise surprise, Cyberpunk 2077 received a Mature rating for blood and gore, intense violence, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content and use of drugs and alcohol. Going over the ratings summary, we have some very very interesting details.

The summary starts off by getting the generic out of the way with “Players will be able to explore futuristic locations, interact with citizens, perform missions and engage in combat to complete various objectives within a storyline. Characters use handguns, machine guns, rifles and explosives during frenetic firefights with humans and cybernetically enhanced enemies. Players can also use melee weapons like wrist-mounted blades and enhanced limbs to stab enemies and in some cases dismember them. Some locations depict mutilated corpses with open chest cavities and or exposed organs.”

This is where is gets interesting. It goes on to say that “During one quest, players assist a character by hammer nails through his hands and feet: screaming sounds and blood effects accompany the scene.”
I don’t know about you guys but that sounds a lot like a crucifixion to me, which is a particularly brutal way to torture someone. Cyberpunk 2077 seems to not hold any punches here.

“Players can encounter events where they have the option to engage in sexual activities from a first-person perspective. Since I’ve been getting a ton of questions for those of you who play games in front of your kids, or who have concerned parents, yea you can skip these sequences just like in the Witcher 3.

Continuing in with the summary “Players can select a gender and customize their character. Customization includes the breasts, buttocks and genitalia, as well as various sizes and combinations of genitals. This is what cyberpunk is all about, what it means to be human and the augmentation of the body.

I think it’s pretty funny how this was talked about a while ago, and there was a ton of outrage, but as soon as you make it meme-worthy or use terms like pp and cyberdong it suddenly all good.

Anyways moving on the report then mentions that “the game contains frequent depictions and references to fictional drugs, including characters taking state altering inhalers, and there is an animated billboard with a man snorting speed. Sequences allow the player to drink alcohol until the screen distorts, and characters can drive drunk.”

Moving on we’ve been following Maul Cosplay’s 2077 fan film for a while now, and him and Vi-Dan-Tran have finally released a Teaser for the flick. It’s got a surprisingly high production quality here so check out this trailer if you have not yet.

Finally, I’ll leave you with this tweet from Senior Quest Designer Phillip Webber to keep your personal hype train chugging.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – NO Censorship, Summer Games Fest & More Lore!

NO censorship being confirmed for one of the stingiest regions when it comes to ratings, some new gang and corporation lore, UI and menu iteration, another gaming event coming soon featuring CD PROJEKT RED, and some examples of more of the adult themes in Cyberpunk 2077 from rating agencies all in today’s Cyberpunk 2077 News!

First up let’s jump into CDPR being confirmed for the Summer Games Fest, a new digital gaming conference led by the Video Game Awards leading man Geoff Kneighley. This convention will last 4 months and will feature in-game events, playable content, demos and surprises from your favorite devs and publishers. It is a whole season of events and the first phase has just been announced in terms of which developers will be present. Now phase 1 doesn’t mean the order in which content will be dropping but more along the lines of building up hype as each new phase they announce more devs. This conference will run from May to august and yes CD PROJEKT RED was announced in their first phase lineup along with the likes of PlayStation, Bethesda, Steam, Riot, Xbox, Bungie and Blizzard.

Moving on we have some great great news for Australia and likely the rest of the world in that the game was given an 18+ classification in Australia, there will not be censorship, and CDPR did not have to change anything to get a mature classification. Taking a look at each point from an Australian Kotaku article we have themes, violence and sex being rated 18+ under the high impact category, language and nudity is a tier down at strongly impactful, as well as drug use which was moderately impactful. Honestly pretty surprising judging by how prevalent this is in the Cyberpunk world. Now let’s compare this to the Witcher 3’s designation where it is uniform across the board, with Cyberpunk edging Witcher out in terms of high impact themes.

We also have a redacted Cyberpunk 2077 classification report where the board talks about some of the scenes to give us an idea on how they rated each of these metrics. Now there are not story spoilers here due to redacted pieces of text in the examples, but if you want to go into 2077 without knowing the minutia you might want to skip this part.

First the report notes that “there are virtually no restrictions on the treatment of themes” and that ‘the game contains no depictions of actual sexual activity nor does it contain explicit and realistic simulated sexual activity.” I’m not sure if I’m reading this wrong, but that would seem to suggest that the sex scenes are implied or that CDPR have cleverly shot their cutscenes to reflect this. Again, this is confusing, and they go on to contradict this in the article, so I’m going to chalk this up to a writing error.

Moving on we have confirmation that Not ALL cutscenes in Cyberpunk will be in first person.
In a quote the agency says “Cutscenes, including the game’s non interactive sex scenes, are primarily depicted from the first-person perspective.”

Moving onto specifics, there is a point where a player can hire male or female NPCs as prostitutes. The sequence is depicted from first person perspective with nudity visible as the NPC assumes sexual positions and poses.
You can also have first person scenes with other NPCs, that are likely not labelled as prostitutes.
The sequence uses a brief wide-angle depiction of full-frontal female nudity, to depict simulated sexual activity, again putting a huge whole in what was said earlier in this article.
During another quest, V enters a sex shop with mannequins that are posed inside glass cabinets in various sexual positions. Other, smaller cabinets contain a variety of sex toys or devices including a number of oversized phallic-shaped dildos.

Moving on players can choose to “inflict post-mortem damage on NPC corpses”. Arms, legs and heads of corpses can be detached with gunfire, with some stylized injuries and details of entrails and bone visibility in some cases.

Moving on we have some awesome new corporation and gang lore. First up CDPR tweeted about one of the fan favorite gangs the Tyger Claws, which are “a gang of Japanese origin and stylistic influence located in Japantown. They’re ruthless and violent in practice and intimidating in appearance. Katanas, street bikes and luminous tattoos are their trademarks.”

We also have Militech which is “one of the largest manufacturers of weapons and military vehicles in the world, they’ve worked closely with the American military and police agencies for years, providing high-grade weaponry and training.

Finally shout out to Madqueen and Miles tost for this UI and menu tidbit. Madqueen posted how she wasn’t a fan of the color of the menus from the Deep dive demo, which I agree with, to which Senior Level Designer Miles Tost responds with that he can’t say too much, but that games are iterative, implying this has been changed.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – NEW Content Date REVEALED, New Lore & CDPR’s Billionaire!

Some new lore on The Valentinos & Kang Tao, Confirmation on new content for Cyberpunk 2077 and the date we can expect to see it, CDPR forging it’s first billionaire, as well as an 8K upscaled Cyberpunk 2077 project you’re going to want to check out for yourself all in todays Cyberpunk 207 news video.

First let’s dive into a couple of lore blurbs posted to the 2077 Twitter page. First we have the Valentinos described as “one of Night City’s largest gangs, the Valentinos are bound by a strong moral code and century-old traditions. Controlling swathes of predominantly Latino areas of Heywood, they treat values such as honor, justice and brother hood with deadly seriousness.

Jackie seems to e a member of the Valentinos based on his attire and the fact that he is in promo art for the Valentinos, and it seems like CDPR have pivoted a bit based on this description from the original Valentinos who were all about womanizing and getting as many lays as possible. CDPR has confirmed that the Valentinos will not be exclusive to Night City’s latino population and some information that we’ve know for a while know that we wont be able to join any of the gangs.

CDPR also dropped some lore on Kang Tao which is a young Chinese company specializing in smart-gun technology and security services. It’s making its way to the top of the weapon industry at a tremendous pace thanks to bold choices, courageous strategy and government backing. Kang Tao makes the smart rifle we’ve seen in some of the prior gameplays.
Moving on, we finally know when we will be seeing more from Cyberpunk 2077 in terms of fresh content. IGN tweeted out a couple of days that Cyberpunk 2077 has joined the IGN summer of gaming event lineup, which is looking to be one of the bigger gaming events that will take place of previously cancelled E3. This event will feature publisher presentations, developer interviews done remotely, game previews, demos and more. I’m really hoping we get to see some more tangible gameplay as even the most recent deep dive is 7 or 8 months old at this point and on top of that featured an old build.

Again, this is going to be in June and is the first confirmed time period where Cyberpunk 2077 will have a presence, but that’s not to say we can see some more before that. I’ll def be streaming this event on this channel to watch whatever unfolds with you guys so make sure you pop by the channel when we know some more concrete timings. IGN’s summer event will be sometime in June.

Moving on we have the first Billionaire within CD PROJEKT. Marcin Iwinski recently hit a networth of over 1 billion USD, and is now the 9th richest person in Poland, with Michal Kicinski, CD PROJEKTs second biggest shareholder right behind him at a net worth of over 900 million USD.
Other billionaires that have been created from the gaming industry include Gabe Newell, chariman of valve with a networth of 3.5 billion, Forest Li Garena founder and CEO with a networh of 2,5 billion and Ma Huaten, chaiman of Tencent Holdings, whose assets surpass 48 billion. It’s funny because a lot of these guys have made their fortunes with games centered around some sort of microtransaction business strategy, but Iwinski seems to be the exception within this list.

Finally check out this 8K machine learning AI upscales of both the 48 minute gameplay demo as well as the deep dive demo by Preston aka Ani HVX on YouTube. It looks absolutely insane and there is a 60GB uncompressed 8K link for those unhampered by your computers spatial needs. Apparently the 48 minute demo took 71 hours to render on a RTX 2080ti / i7 9700k build which just makes it all the more impressive. Links in the pinned comment and description for you guys to Preston’s channel he has a lot of other videos on immersion and setups so I def recommend checking him out.

Cyberpunk 2077 Lore – Tsunami Armaments!

In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 lore video we’re going to be looking into Tsunami Arms, where the originate from, what kinds of exotic weaponry they produce as well as their connections to people and corporations in The Cyberpunk World.

Tsunami Armaments or the Tsunami Design Bureau, as it is alternatively known as, is one of the 4 biggest weapons manufacturers in Osaka. Tsunami arms oddly enough first started making airsoft guns in the 1990s, before the government made it possible for private companies to start manufacturing weapons in 1998, where Tsunami quickly rose to the top of the ladder. Tsunami is not only a super secretive organization, but it is also one of the most inventive weapon manufacturers and they frequently take on special order weapon contracts from top tier Solos.

Tsunami was formed by 3 friends as a natural evolution of their airsoft endeavours, and now utilizes the latest in computer assisted design and manufacturing equipment. They lack the resources and manpower of giants like Militech and Lazarus, yet still remain on the cutting edge of technology, a reputation that has many mystified. This has led to rumors of Tsunami having a rogue AI stolen from Arasaka or the Government, allegedly named Muramasa at their command.

Tsunami denies this, although for many years Tsunami was a top secret organization, working behind the scenes with governments and corporations. In the 2020s however, they have expanded into the public and commercial domain. Tsunami has had exponential growth in the consumer space, a testament to their quality and again innovation.

The employees range from R&D experts with multiple doctorates, to streetwise techies working in a high energy lab. They are all exceptional in their field of expertise, as well as combat trained.

Competitor wise, no other corporation really has it out for Tsunami mainly due to how niche they are in the weapons market. In Fact in the 2020s Tsunami created a joint project with Militech called Hurricane Arms. Lazarus ops frequently use Tsunamis prototype arms, Raven micro cybernetics has a large contract for small security arms and Tsunami has also cultivated a collaborative relationship with Infocomp.

Arasaka and Tsunami however butt heads for an unknown reason, which MAY why we’ve seen the Chinese weapons manufacturer Kang-Tao being utilized by Arasaka Soldiers in 2077 promotional material.

Let’s move onto some of the most popular Tsunami Arms weapons on the market from the Cyberpunk 2020 Lore.

First we have the Raganarok CAS, which is a Shotgun that utilizes special Electrothermal Ammo Enhancements combined with a dual reciprocating-barrel action and hydroshock recoil compensation. Batteries are on the stock, and in 2020 the Tokyo Cyberpsycho Squad have some of these weapons in their possession.

Next we have the Tsunami Arms Helix, arguably the most devastating weapon for close quarters combat. This hex barreled gatling shotgun fires binary 10-gauge shells at 1300 rounds per minute. The Helix has an inclined rear pistol-grip as well as a top-mounted fore-handle, and it has no stock since it is to be fired from the hip. CDPR have mentioned an 8 barreled shotgun in their Deep Dive Q&A, so maybe we will see the evolution of the Helix in 2077.

The TA Airhammer was designed by Tsunami for the Crystal palace security force. It fires a 5.3x19mm projectile via compressed air which is controlled by 3 settings named: Target, Combat and overload. Target shells out half the damage, combat dishes out normal damage and Overload is the much more impactful setting.

One of my favorites is the Type-18 Automatic Grenade Launcher also called the MicroMortar. THis is a bulky, bazooka-like weapon connected to a 25kg backpack sized magazine of grenades. IT’s also nicknamed the pitching machine as you can rain grenades upon your enemies.

If you like high impact Sniper Rifles, the Ramjet Rifle is for you. What makes this ultra powerful anti personel, anti armor weapon so special is it’s small 8.5 mm ramjet engine projectiles. A jet of hot air ignites fuel stored in the bullet, leading to a projectile that increases in velocity up until it reaches its maximum range. This allows the Ramjet rifle to be one of the hardest hitting rifles from afar

Finally we have the Tsunami Arms Typ 17 Rajin, an anti power armor and anti vehicle weapon. This weapon is supplied with a bipod, computerized sights and a special shock absorption system for recoil, although it is so hefty that the user still feels the heavy kick. Wearing an ACPA is recommended when using the Rajin.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Devs CONFIDENT, Kids In 2077, LE Console!

Developer chatter on Twitter about the state of Cyberpunk 2077, some new merchandise including an official Xbox console and Headset, Cyberpunk Red miniatures and augmented kids being possible for 2077, more gang lore, rating agencies and some info about where Cyberpunk 2077 is truly an 18+ game, some music teases and more in todays Cyberpunk 2077 News!

First up we have the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter releasing some more Gang lore, this time about the Animals gang which we have seen in the Deep Dive video. The Animals are an aggressive street-fighting gang from west Pacifica that eschews the use of traditional cyberware. Instead, they use ultra-testosterone and animal supplements (like growth hormones). They’re animalistic at heart and dangerously proud of who they are.

In the demo these steroids were called Juice, so I’m not sure if this has changed, but regardless love their logo and their ideology.

Moving on, as we all know Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to come out a week or so ago on April 16th, and for a while now we know that this date had been pushed back to September 17th so CDPR can focus on bug squashing and optimization. There was some speculation that we might get something Cyberpunk related on this date to tide us over until the marketing starts to ramp up in June, but This wasn’t the case as a Where’s Johnny meme was posted to their socials, meaning we’ll have to wait a bit longer for Cyberpunk content.

With that being said, it seems like the developers are talking about Cyberpunk 2077 a little bit more recently, with many of them being incredibly confident in the potential of the game. Pawel Sasko also retweeted this list of Top 10 RPGs of all time, mentioning that when 2077 comes out this list will be outdated. It will be worth the wait seems to be the common theme amongst CDPR and its staff.
Moving on we have the release of a couple of Cyberpunk products in the Johnny Silverhand controller, the Limited-Edition Xbox One X console as well as the official Cyberpunk SteelSeries headsets. The limited-edition console was the product of an Xbox ARG where the Game Detectives an online puzzle busting discord group cracked the code to unveil the unlisted Console Trailer. The console comes with a Silverhand controller which can be purchased separately, and for what it’s worth I think the controller is more my style than the console. In any case if you are in the market, check this out, but I’d probably just wait on next gen, unless you don’t have any way to play 2077 at the moment.

Moving on we have some rating agencies news as there was an alleged Instagram story pinning Cyberpunk 2077 at a Mature rating in North America and some insight from Brazilian classification that it will not be recommended for those under 18. Now the Instagram story has subsequently been deleted from the Cyberpunk 2077 official page, but the Brazilian ratings seem to carry a bit more information on where Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be more mature, and where it seems to be a little bit more age friendly. Of course, this is all relative since the game is adult in nature. JordanMK over on reddit gave us some addition insight into the age recommendations on some of the themes in Cyberpunk 2077, so I’ll post the age indicators for each on screen for you guys. Now obviously Brazil looks at these different elements with a different lens than north America would, but it does seem like this may be similar to The Witcher in terms of violence, nudity and language.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – MASSIVE Developer Details via Q&A! (Delays, Next Gen, DLC & Expansions!)

A BIG Q&A via a CDPR investors call, where we learn about if there will be another delay, physical and digital distribution, new updates on next gen versions and a lot more. In addition, we also have the potential of vehicle customization from a CDPR store hint, ESRB ratings, DLC plans, A new gang and its lore, as well as more teases of music to come all in todays Cyberpunk 2077 News episode!

Let’s jump right into the news. First, we have a CDPR Q&A at the end of a financial call laying out CD PROJEKTS 2019 finances, their balance sheet and their numbers. At the end we have a Q&A where investors could phone in to ask questions.

The first question was if there were any elements of the release of Cyberpunk out of CDPRs control, based on current events. CDPR’s representatives maintain that they have obtained a mass majority of the game’s ratings, so there is no risk of not obtaining these ratings in any major markets. This has also been echoed by Adam Badowski on Twitter.
They also do not see physical related launch risks by launching in September. The main issue at the moment is the localization process, as most recording studios are closed. They do have a majority of the voice lines for the localization of other regions, but they are not worried about finishing this up, as worst-case scenario there will be a day one patch for these localizations.

The next questions are regarding the marketing strategy of Cyberpunk now that conferences have been shut down, if there are any insights into physical distribution of the game being affected, and the mobile game from Spokko being developed in collaboration with CDPR.

CDPR responds with that they have been planning a digital strategy to unveil new 2077 facts and elements without relying on these events, and that they are working on smart ways to present to a large volume of people. They have plans for a 100% digital presence, as well as a mix of physical and digital presences and they also add that they have tentative plans from June through September.

The next questions were in respect to the benefits of digital vs physical releases, and if CDPR is worried about the potential pileup of back end releases increasing the competition for Cyberpunk 2077. CDPR responds with that they are not really worried as there will be competition in any time you launch a game, and that they believe they have the must have title that will sell well regardless.

Moving on, apparently just under 600 people in the studio are working on Cyberpunk projects, with some employees being fluid between the single player and multiplayer experience, because they are so interconnected. 40 are in Wroclaw for MP, but the vast majority are on the single player.
When it comes to QA and testing, there are around 130-150 people testing the game right now, which is double what they had for the Witcher.

They mention that there will effectively be two versions for the Series X. They have the enhanced version, which will be able to be played at launch, as well as the fully upgraded next gen version which will come post launch of the Series X.

If you guys remember CDPR tweeted that each Xbox One Cyberpunk 2077 purchase will be able to be upgraded to the next gen version for free. It seems that there are two, so I’m not sure if both will be free going forward or just the base enhanced one, but only time will tell.
Amazing new details here, and since I have been getting a ton of concern about another delay, well there you have it, they are confident in a September release despite everything.

Now there was another detail in the Q&A, which I must have missed, and although I did listen to the entire 55 minutes, and checked others notes on the topic I didn’t see / hear this note, but VGC caught a fact from Adam Kicinski where he mentioned Cyberpunk 2077 will have no less DLC than The Witcher 3 had. He also mentioned that on announcement timing, expect a similar scenario to the Witcher 3 where they announced DLC in the months prior, and expansions in the weeks prior to release.

Moving on we have this new lore tidbit from a new gang revealed called the Mox. Now I showed this off on my last news episode, but at the time I was editing, CDPR released a synopsis of this gang as well. According to the information, this gang was formed in 2076 after the death of Elizabeth “lizize” borden, a strip club owner and ex-prostitute who treated workers fairly and defended them from violent clients. The mox refer to themselves as those who protect working girls and guys from violence and abuse. Now we also saw the Lizzies graffiti tied into the Behind The Music trailer, and we have Lizzy Wizzy as a rockergirl popstar in the world, and now we have Elizabeth Lizzie Borden as the symbolic leader of the gang, with a logo of what looks like Lizzy Wizzys logo. Super confusing, although in my mind there is probably a correlation here somehow.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Killer Clown Gang, New Gang Logos & MORE!

New official Gang Logo images, A Cyberpunk 2077 PC modding contest, some hints into seeing the Bozos, an insane clown gang in 2077, CDPR setting a new record, Gang logos & more all in today’s Cyberpunk 2077 news video!

First up let’s jump into the new PC modding contest announced by CDPR yesterday morning. This is a contest where you can design the Cyberpunk 2077 PC case of your dreams, and five professional case modding teams will make the best entries come to life.

Megacorporation logo, and on the main contest page, CDPR has attached these assets. We get to see updated looks at the logos of the gangs we have already seen, and some that we haven’t as of yet.

First up we have the logos for a new gang we haven’t seen yet called “6th street”, we have the muscled up juiceheads from Pacifica, the Animals, we have the body mod obsessed Maelstrom from Watson, we have the Moxes, which seem to sport the Lizzy Wizzy logo and might be related to The Lizzies somehow, we have the Arasaka backed Tyger Claws, from Japantown, The womanizing seduction specialists the Valentinos, and the Haitian hacker-extraordinares the Voodooboys from the Pacifica district.
These are all fantastic and I cannot wait to see some of these new gangs in game. Keep in mind these are only the main gangs, and there will be sub gangs and factions prowling night city as well.

Now speaking of Gangs, as you guys know RTalsorian the company who has licensed the Cyberpunk IP to CDPR, has been making a lot of Cyberpunk Red miniatures as of late in collaboration with monster fight club. Cyberpunk Red is a tabletop primer to 2077, and so it gives us a ton of hints about whats to come in Cyberpunk 2077.

The Bozos a killer clown gang from the lore, seems to be one of the most requested gangs in 2077, and here we see a couple miniatures from the Cyberpunk Red series which leads me to believe we will see these in the video game adaptation. First we have this more traditional penny-wise looking clown, and this augmented really colorful clown with what seems to be a squirtgun. Yes squirtguns are also in the lore, and they are typically filled with drugs, so I’d imagine this will go nicely with the Mr Studd augment for those who want to mess around and make their playthroughs a little more meme-friendly.

Moving on, check out this Cyberpunk soundtrack snippet featuring Mr Rubin who I believe was or still is the drummer for Nine Inch Nails. If this is any indication of the more punky, rock tracks in 2077 I’ll be pretty pleased.
Next up, check out some of this dedication to what seemed to be a leak of what is essentially Cyberpunk 2077’s Disneyland equivalent being built in Poland to support the game and CDPR. NightCityLife, german fan-site for Cyberpunk painstakingly set up this incredibly elaborate April Fools prank.
This fabricated leak featured tentative plans for CD PROJEKT to open a Cyberpunk 2077 nightclub in Warsaw which included a game café, a disco bar and a shopping arcade.

There were concept art pictures drafted up and a ton of promotional images and supposed evidence on socials that were absolutely amazing. Just look at this concept art, and some of these drink label designs. This was all called the Red Diamond, with the Game café modelling a netrunner themed coffeeshop, The Atlantis bar and disco, and merch via vendors in a remodeled section of Night City. There were a ton of people in on this, and I got to say, It was very convincing. Although, I’m not sure how popular a bar and disco would be amongst the gamer demographic, which kind of put a pin in this for me personally.

Incredibly well-done April Fools nonetheless, but let me know if you guys would enjoy something like this in the real world or even elements of this prank in the game. SOulkiller polish craft eer and blackhand whiskey sounds pretty awesome to me.
