Cyberpunk 2077 Lore – Adam Smasher, Morgan Blackhand & Elite Solos!

Solos are the elite fighting machines of the Cyberpunk world. From Hired assassins to bodyguards, to killers and soldiers, Solos know their way around a myriad of high impact weapons, strength-based cybernetics and combat drugs. Typically, the lone wolf freelance type, most Solos are ex-military looking for any opportunity to carve up the streets in exchange for a handsome sum of eddies. From corporate armies, to personal bodyguards to black ops assassins, there is an array of different niches a talented solo can prescribe to.

From veteran Morgan Black hand to Cyborg Solo Adam Smasher to the top-rated Solos according to the Solo of Fortune handbook, this video will highlight the top dogs when it comes to hired muscle.

The best solos from 2020 ranked from 1-10, can be found via an article called American Angels written by one of Europe’s best solos. Juan Paul “RipperDoc” Duvalier.

At #8 we have Susan Forrest, NorCal State Executioner who we saw referenced in the 2077 gameplay in The Afterlife bar. Forest is an Ex Mac tac officer, who has been designated to track down highly dangerous fugitives on the run. With 20 confirmed executions in 2020, Forest is kitted with the best of the best in equipment and weapons and carries an assault rifle with a grenade launcher, a sidearm and an SMG.

At #7 we have Shaitan an anti-corporate free-lance full borg. Shaitan despises arasaka and will take any job out there that involves trying to tear them down. This descent into obsession with destroying this Japanese megacorporation has fueled Shaitain’s rise from a good Solo, to a great solo with an outstanding record. He sports an Eclipse Covert Operations Full Conversion body which offers maximum versatility, firepower, and stealth into one compact package.

At #5 we have Jenni Flexx, the personal escort of rocker and media icon Jack Maxximum, who has averted assassination attempts, kidnappings and harassment. She has also handled Justifiable Homicide’s Long Walk tour, for more on that check out my rocker boy’s lore, where the entire band visited 16 cities in the US while fleeing federal investigations, without a casualty. Rumors are the worked under the CIA or served in the SouthAm as a SEAL or Sniper. Again, Jenni Flexx likes to remain under the radar and has a trusted biosculptor.

At #2 we have Captain Andrew “Boa Boa” Weyland, also referenced in the 2077 gameplay. One of the most feared Solos in the corporate world, Weyland worked for PetroChem in the 2020s. His crew the Water Leopards are notorious for high level extractions and assassinations and have yet to fail a job of any sort. He has survived confrontations with Blackhand, Flex and Jones and is well versed in hand to hand combat. Infighting has plagued the Water leopards however, fragmenting the water leopards and causing issues over time.

At #1 we have the solos, solo the always reliable Morgan Blackhand. A combat veteran, and highly trained killer, Blackhand felt out of place in a world post army involvement. Living a day to day life, he caught the eye of Militech after dispatching of a Gang leader who was pushing his buttons with ease. Ever since, he has been on the Militech payroll as a mercenary and has earned his reputation of being the best by thwarting the kidnapping of Kerry Eurodyne and turning in all 5 kidnappers beaten but alive all by himself. He is pragmatic and street smart.

Blackhand led a Militech special ops team during the Ocean War, which culminated in the Apex event of the 4th corporate war, the destruction of Arasaka Towers. During this conflict Metalhead solo Adam Smasher backed by Arasaka donning a DaiOni Battlesuit and Blackhand who lead a Militech strike team tussled as the tower crumbled to the ground. The outcome is unknown, although we do see Adam Smasher as an Arasaka Loyalist in the most recent trailer.

Now somewhere on this list surely fits the cyberpsychotic borg Adam Smasher. Smasher spent 6 years as a marine, before he was booted out for Insubordination. After, this aggressive Solo was hired by a corporate bigwig to snatch tech from a competitor but met an untimely demise with a rocket. This had Smasher flatlined for a good 8 minutes before his brain was recovered and was inevitably stabilized in a life-support tank. Smasher’s body was decimated, but luckily for him, the same corp who had hired him in the first place offered him an interesting proposition. A 15-year contract in exchange for a full body conversion. Realizing that Metal was in almost all ways superior to meat, Smasher was and likely still is one of the most feared Solos in the Cyberpunk world.

With the superior physical abilities of full borg solos like Shaitain and Smasher came a martial art designed for these bodies. Panzer Faust which translates into armor fist, is the means by which Metalhead solos acclimatize to their new abilities.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Map Size EXPANDED, Unique Crowd System & 20 Million Sales Forecast!

Has Cyberpunk 2077’s Map EXPANDED Horizontally? Today we are going over some forecasts for CD Projekt and Cyberpunk 2077 in the new year via Business outlet Bloomberg, some new Cyberpunk 2077 related products available for pre-order, some more details from John Mamais, some Countdown to the Dark future episodes, some fan creations and art & more.

First let’s jump into some of the forecasts made in an article via Business news publication Bloomberg.com regarding CD PROJEKT and Cyberpunk 2077s future. CD PROJEKT snagged a spot-on Bloomberg’s 50 businesses to watch in 2020 largely due to Cyberpunk 2077, with estimated sales growth numbers just over 445% and 12-month sales being 108.34 million as per analysts.
In a brief synopsis as to why CD PROJEKT will have such astronomical numbers, Bloomberg’s Matthew Kanterman says this “CD PROJEKT SA, Poland’s largest video game maker could beat analyst 2020 sales forecasts.

Next up we have an article from Ausgamers which adds more detail to an interview we went over in a prior news episode with head of the Krakow studio John Mamais. In a question regarding recent hiring’s and the growth of CD PROJEKT RED, mamais mentions “We weren’t smart enough to know how many people we needed” “When we wrote the initial concept for Cyberpunk 2077, we didn’t know. So, we grew as the design was developing. And really, you don’t know how many cinematic animators you’re going to need until you have a scope for the number of scenes you’re going to have in the game. We didn’t have that in the beginning, we just knew we wanted to have cool cinematics and be as big as the Witcher 3.

The crowd systems we’ve seen so far are incredibly impressive and John Mamis extrapolates on this by saying “We kind of had to do it cause it’s a big city setting right?” “You need crowds of people moving around or it wont look right. It was very technically challenging and still is. We’re working on it in fact. Last time I talked to the technical director, he talked its current status as a real achievement, where we’ve got all these people in the same space moving around. Different to the Witcher crowds, because if you look closely, they’re very similar to each other in how they look and move. In Cyberpunk these are all, in a way, unique characters moving around the space. It’s a combination of AI, tech and art.

Moving on we have a new look at some Arasaka Security forces in this cover art for PCGamer magazine & Map size differences between last year’s 2018 trailer and the one that can be seen here. First let’s take a look at some of the Arasaka riot police fending of Night City citizens. Moving on to the most interesting part of the image we have the new map, which looks a little bit different from the old map we saw in the 2018 trailer.

Now if we look very closely, we can see a ton of new stops added in virtually all directions, with the most significant length added on the south side near Rancho Coronado, and in the North near Westbrook.

Next up we have a couple Cyberpunk 2077 products now available for pre order. First, we have the super anticipated Samurai/2077 bomber jackets which can now be pre-ordered.

We also have the official game guide coming from Piggyback games which comes in a standard and CE version. This guide is described as “The Complete Official Guide to Cyberpunk 2077 is a massive book covering everything in the game. With details on every challenge and feature, the guide offers streamlined progression through the entire adventure, as well as a commanding expertise on all key systems. 100% authoritative: all branching paths, all side quests, all rewards, and all endings fully mapped out; also includes optional challenges, mini-games, unlockables, secrets, and more. Foolproof explanations: every mission, every game mechanic, every meaningful choice covered with accessible solutions. Reference & Analysis Chapter: in-depth coverage of all major game systems, including character progression, abilities, perks, Street Cred, Trophies/Achievements, among others.

Cyberpunk 2077 – What Makes GOOD Gunplay, Gameplay & Combat?

Today we are talking about Gunplay, where Cyberpunk 2077 has seen improvements from last years demo to this year’s deep dive, what makes good gameplay and the mechanics and systems driving weighty & satisfying combat, the distinction in what’s important between story-driven single player games and competitive multiplayer games, hitscan and projectile weapons, sandbox environments & more. This video will have emphasis on Cyberpunk 2077, but in all honesty these principles will apply to gunplay mechanics across all shooters.

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Lore Based Multiplayer, Crazy Side-Quest, Gender Pronouns & Romancing Keanu!

In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 News episode we have a new interview with CDPR’s Max Pears where we get more explanations on Multiplayer R&D, Crazy sidequests, playtesting, body types, romancing Keanu reeves, Third person cutscenes, how NPCs will address you and much more.

When asked if there has been any changes when it comes to levels based on playtesting and character builds offering up new challenges when it comes to level design, Max responds by saying “There was definitely constant tweaking and iteration because in one playtest the player might not even touch certain routes.

Max goes on to mention that changes have been made specifically in how the game will allow you to play the stealthy route, and that there is always an option for the player.

Next we have a question about the importance of R&D when it comes to multiplayer.

When it comes to free DLC and expansions, it seems like CDPR will be following in the footsteps of the Witcher 3 and applying what they’ve learned from those releases as well. Expect a lot of free post launch content and DLCs that have the scope of entire games in themselves similar to Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

The next question was in regards to if existing TPP cutscenes have been changed (Like the ones seen in the 2018 demo) to first person?

Pears was also asked how NPC’s address the player character’s gender.

Lastly Max Pears also mentions that we won’t be able to romance Johnny Silverhand aka Keanu Reeves.

Next we have a tweet from the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter page showing an image of a max tac officer.

Finally we have a Japanese interview with Richard Borzymowski where he discusses some of the influences of Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 Community Podcast #24! – Multiplayer, Deep Dive, Crafting, Menus Ft. NightCityLife!

Discussing Cyberpunk 2077’s Multiplayer, Gameplay Comparisons from the Deep Dive gameplay Demo and the E3 2019 and Gamescom demos, New crafting details, menus, CD PROJEKT RED & Cyberpunk 2077 merchandise, and the latest Cyberpunk 2077 news and speculation / discussion!

Cyberpunk 2077 News – Gameplay Reveal Date, 15 Minute Public Showing & Developer Panel!

I’m sure at this point we are all itching to get to see the 2019 Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo as it’s been more than a year since the 48-minute walkthrough. Post E3 2019 CD PROJEKT RED confirmed that we would be getting a demo at PAX West, much like how they revealed last years demo post Gamescom.

This morning CD PROJEKT RED and Cyberpunk 2077 took to twitter to communicate their plans when it comes to the public demos release. They state in their post as follows.

Next week we’re going to host a stream. Expect a lot of insight into the thought process behind creative decisions, information about Pacifica—one of the districts of Night City—and TONS of stuff on playstyles you’ll be able to adopt when you launch Cyberpunk 2077 next year.

This stream will be available for everyone to watch, so all of you, wherever you are, have a chance to feel a bit of gamescom — or any other trade show — at home. Hosting the entire thing will be our very own Hollie Bennett, our UK head of comms, and the dev line up will include some familiar faces you know and like.

There’s one additional announcement we have for you: we initially planned to showcase gameplay at PAX West, but there’s been a change of plans, and we’ll be streaming from Warsaw. The PAX cosplay contest is still on; we just won’t have the dev panel on-site this time around.

Why is this important? Because 15 minutes relative to the 30 minute public and 50 minute private demo is not much footage when you compare it to what people who went to these events got to see.

Now personally I’m a little conflicted. We have confirmation of a date and a time which honestly really helps with planning where and how to view it instead of just having an arbitrary timeline, but 15 minutes is a lot shorter than anticipated. Even the public viewings at E3 and Gamescom were double this at roughly 30 minutes.

On the flipside, they have done enough world building with the previous demo, and the mechanics are the focus with this one, so a condensed version means that we can jump right into the skills, mechanics and playstyles.

CDPR’s reason for condensing the gameplay is that the private and public demo showed too many spoilers. Now obviously we have a ton of media and influencers reporting on these demos, so I think preventative measures for spoilers are a tad redundant at this point. We’ve probably read them already from the multitude of people reporting on the demo and their impressions from e3 and Gamescom 2019.

There is of course the possibility that we didn’t hear of the spoilers which are supposed to be big, and in that case, ill retract my previous statement. 99% of the fun of a single player narrative RPG is unraveling the story and exploration and another hour of content on top of last years demo is pretty unheard of, and I’m not sure what more they’d have to show us for the next 6ish months before release.
I do also have a sneaking suspicion that the reception for this demo didn’t have quite the impact of last years and that things like gunplay and stiff driving mechanics stood out more. I know CDPR were hesitant to show last years demo, and maybe this years feedback has caused them to reassess the slice they are showing and pinpoint some of the weaker elements.
I’m okay with 15 minutes if its detailed and addresses as much as possible that we won’t be able to see in the full 50 minutes. Additionally the panel after the demo is something I’ll be keeping my eye on, and I’m hoping its not repeat information from interviews.
As for my personal prediction, again it seems like they are emphasizing playstyles so gameplay chunks and how they unfold differently between stealth netrunner Male V and Brute strength solo female V will likely be the focal point as well as skills, attributes, trees and potentially inventories and sections.

Cyberpunk 2077 – 8 Things You Missed In The Gameplay Sneak Peek Trailer!

In today’s Cyberpunk 2077 video we are going over 8 Things you missed in the Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay Sneak peek trailer. If you guys haven’t seen it yet it is an unlisted video on the Cyberpunk 2077 channel, but we did see it live at E3 prior to the release date reveal.

First we have a look at what could be lootable books in the world of Night City. It seems like paperback books have not ceased to exist in the dark future, and in the character creation hybrid scene for the demo, we see a stack of 3 books and another book cover as the view pans to male V. Now we could have books here because the area is in Pacifica which is a poverty-stricken gang infested district, and it could lack more technological innovations and chips previously seen but that’s just my speculation. The books we see is Sayonara station, rewiring synaptic pathways, the chronicles of titania and the maxtac way. Sayonara means goodbye and is borrowed from Japanese. The maxtac way is likely an interesting book on the methodologies of the Psycho squad who are also referred to as the maxtac. These are the scariest law enforcement group in Night City who focus on hunting down and killing Cyberpsychos who are on murderous rampages under the grip of Cyberpsychosis. Next we have the chronicles of titania, again not really sure what this would be about, Although Titania is the name of a character in Shakespeares play a midsummers night dream. At the top we have rewiring synaptic pathways, which as someone who loves psychology intrugies me. Rewiring neural pathways is a pretty common practice in rehabilitative psychology. Again this might have something to do with Cyberpsychosis as cyberpsychos usually need braindance as a rehabilitative method, which is essentially reqiring your neural pathways using hyper realistic VR.

Next up we have a sports arena in the background of this shot somewhere in Pacifica. In a couple of frames we see that there is a athlete wearing what looks like Football gear, and we know that combat sports are a part of the lore of Cyberpunk. We also see the teams which seems to be the corsairs versus a team whose logo is a dragon in the shape of an S which seems to represent San Diego, but regardless this seems to be confirmation that there will be sports other than boxing in the world. Now Pacifica is pretty run down so it’s also possible the advertisements has just been left there unchanged for a long period of time and sports were a big thing in this district BEFORE it turned into a hellhole.

Next up we have a little placeholder from the movie theatre scene where you are holding up NetWatch agent Bryce Mosely. If you guys remember the E3 2018 art for Cyberpunk 2077s on site booth, youll remember that this was exactly what they had inside. The theatre is projecting the same image, and I’m going to assume it’s a placeholder and there will be a legit movie playing when we get in the game. Obviusly there seems to be a ton of movie posters in the world, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

Next we have an audio snippet during the trailer when meeting Placide. Male V can be heard saying Mr. Hand sent me am I right for the job. Now this got me thinking as to which Hand V is referring to. It would be obvious to assume Johnny Silverhand, who is the digital ghost AI attached to the immortality chip in Male V’s brain, but we also recently got an image where the possibility of Morgan Blackhand was questioned. If this scene in the screenshot is before our expedition to Pacifica, maybe Morgan Blackhand is part of the story and is sending us on a mission of some sort.

Next we have the hacking sequence where Male V jacks int the panel. If you look very closely, this panel belongs to Petrochem one of the biggest megacorporations in Night City that have yet to be confirmed in Cyberpunk 2077, although it is implied with the use of CHOOH2 in our super cars. Petrochem is an Agircorp, and the worlds largest producer of CHOOH2 in Cyberpunk 2020. There’s also some intriguing data on the side, one being the name of Valerie Sutnar writing the program or code for this panel. And the little code at the bottom that resembles steam wallet codes or digital content codes you guys can use to redeem for something online. I tried this on GOG already, although I did notice it a while ago so it’s probably been used if it is a code. Regardless, you can try and test your luck or decipher if that’s what it actually is.

Next we have the BIGGEST revelation of all, the fact that they still use toiler bowl cleaner in Night city.

Finally at the end, we have what looks like the Militech logo as we are netrunning into the deep web with Brigitte and some of the voodooboys. It will be interesting to see if Militech owns a lot of these servers, or if they are funding the Voodooboys and Militech’s involvement into netrunning if any.

Cyberpunk 2077 – NPC Character Classes (Explained!)

In Today’s Cyberpunk 2077 NPC Character Classes Explained Video we are talking about all the classes and archetypes of characters we can find in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 & Night City. We have already covered the main classes we personally will get to utilize in the Solo, netrunner and techie in a prior video, so we will go through all the Nomad, Fixer, Corporate, Media, Rockerboy and Cop Classes.

First we have Nomads. If you’ve ever seen a Mad Max movie, then Nomads will look familiar to you. Nomads are classified as Road Warriors and gypsys who are forced to roam the highways after being ousted from their places of living by the Megacorporations. Nomads are essentially groups of these now homeless outcasts banding together with their fleets of RV’s, motorbikes and rusting cars. Nomads travel in packs scouring the outskirts of Night City for spare parts, and odds and ends. Nomad packs generally have members with a wide variety of skills including mechanics, med techs and teachers.

Scouts are the visibile leaders of Nomads, who drive the swiftest vehicles and are clad in leather embossed armours. Scouts protect convoys from attacks, and decide on where the pack will settle for the night.

Fixers according to Cyberpunk lore are the deal makers, smugglers, organizers and information brokers. They are essentially the crimelords of the Cyberpunk world. Using skills acquired in pursuing a corporate job, but wanting to do things your own way, fixers put together jobs for Cyberpunks under the radar of the Megacorporations they once used to want to work for. Moving illegal weapons across the border, stealing and reselling supplies, hiring out a Nomad pack or even acting on behalf of high profile Solos and Netrunners, Fixers are always thinking 2 steps ahead.

Corporates are slick business raiders that have bought into the corporate dream, hook line and sinker. In Night City you are in a ruthless and bloody struggle to climb the ranks of the Megacorporations. You’ll kill those ahead of you and silence those nipping at your heels. Sobatoage, bribery, black-mail, and threats of assassinations are a daily occurrence for a young fresh faced corporate.

Cops are the street muscle in Night City. Cops are constantly in danger due to new gangs, new drugs and new weapons. Cops are equipped to the T in Night City and are still largely outgunned in relation to the cyber-gangs sporting super speed, reflexes and the latest street tech. Not only this but Megacorp funded gangs, who are hired to carry out and enforce corporate policies and dodgy activities also pose a huge threat to cops. Cops patrolling the concrete jungle have to keep a keen eye and ear to the environment surrounding them. Around every turn there is danger.

Corporate cops conversely live a relatively stable life. Equipped with all the latest tech, combat armor, Trauma Team Backup and AV-4 Assasult vehicles, messing with them is generally not favorable. They patrol only the areas licensed to them whether that means clean office sectors, or combat zones.

PsychoSquads are one of the higgest branchest of law enforcement in Night City. They have to go toe to toe with CYberpsychos who can walk through bullet fire without feeling a thing.

Medias are the frontline journalists in Cyberpunk. They will go to any means to get the truth, and stop those in positions of power who are manipulating it for their own personal gain. Utlizing nothing more than a videocamera and a small crew, Medias are seen by millions worldwide on TV and deliver stories that the Megacorporations don’t want you to hear.

Medias generally have a variety of Netrunners working for them to uncover corporate web secrets. Medias are always on the clock just incase something truly big breaks.

Finally we have Rockerboys, rebellious characters who use music and performances to revolt and fight against authority. These street poets take their message to the streets in the form of music, poetry and performances to speak their mind and incite a revolution against the Megacorps. As a rockerboy you have the power to get people to rise up through your own creativity, and expose corruption and bring down powerful dictators through your lyrics and inspirational speeches.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Technology Explained! (Cyberware, Robotics, The Net!)

Today’s Cyberpunk 2077 video will include Braindance, Augmentations, Cyberware, The Net, Drugs, Robotics and Drones, AI’s and all the Technology of the world of Cyberpunk 2077 explained! We’ll be looking into all this high end Technology in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and Night City to see just how advanced society has become.

First we have Robotics and drones. In 2077 society is highly dependant on drones and robotics – from live-feed camera drones to sparring bots to giant warehouse and contruction machinery. In the world of Night city trash collectors and robotic street sweepers are automated. From top of the line to slapped together from street scrap, robotics are fundamental to every single aspect life from the economic sector to infrastructure management. In fact most public transporation in Night City is automated. Trains and buses are entities on their own, able to communicate with each other with deep nueral networks that can learn and improve efficiecny.
In the gameplay demo and e3 trailer we see examples of these robotics in action as we see these sparring robots, used for training fighters, as well as a Militech drone used to scout areas with its aerial eagle-eye vision. It seems the militech drone can also scan targets much like our kiroshi optic to analyze targets.
The metro or Night City rapid area transit is a huge part of the world and these types of transporation are autonomous.
Next we have Cyberware.
Cyberware are pieces of technology that can be implanted into a human being, from a biomonitor to regulate ones own body, to advanced thermoptics and vision, to lethal cyberlimbs and weapons.
Examples of Cyberware include Cyberlimbs, Cyberaudio, Cyberoptics, fashionware, neuralware, linear frames, exotics and interfaces.
Bioware is a style of ware that is very similar to Cyberware, but with the distinction that it is based on biology rather than electronics or mechanics. Bioware can have non organic components, but it is used to enhace a biological function, instead of replacing it with technology. Body plating and bioscultping can create a resistant or better looking body, by shifting muscle and bone, or grafting on animal skins and components.
Nanotechnology is a type of bioware which include Enhanced antibodies which can cut healing times in half, toxin binders which bind to poisons and boost your resistance to them and nanosurgeons which are deployed inside your body to repair any physical damage you may receive. Medically, the world of Cyberpunk is incredibly advanced and factions like Trauma Team can bring you back from the edge of death with some of this tech.
In the demo we see the fact that Sandra Dorset has a biomonitor, an internal Cybernetic which monitors our vitals.
Next we have Braindance (Virtual Reality), Drugs and Combat Drugs.
Braindances are digital recordings that allow you to experience all the stimuli associated with every action the recordee undergoes.
Everything from brain activity to moror patterns are experienced by the user. Braindances are virtual reality on steroids and can be streamed to your neural system via a special augmentation called a BD player. Braindancing leads to high levels of addiction in Night City. This is the future of dream like experiences.
Drugs and Combat Drugs in Night City are more prolific and pronounced than ever before. Kerenzikov reflex boosters change the battlefield around you as you can use it to perform killing blows by controlling time and space around you.
There are other drugs in the world of Cyberpunk though. This includes Aphrodisiacs, Recreational Drugs, Cool and intelligence boosters, stims, tranquilizers and more.
There are a ton of drugs, so we are going to go through the most unique and interesting ones from each subsection.
Let’s start with some of the more unique recreational drugs. Some of the old reliable reactional substances like Alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, cocaine and heroine are still available, but drugs have much more advanced chemical compositions.
Next we have The Net, Netrunning, Cyberspace and AIs.
The net is a vast telecommunications network that joins all of the computers and telephones on Earth. In the late 20th century the only way you could enter the net was through a computer and a modem, but in the world of Cyberpunk, you can enter the net directly. You can do this using your brain, interflace plugs, cyberdeck and an interface program that turns computer data into 3 dimensional environments and events.
AIs are present in the world of Cyberpunk, although most of them reside in The Net. Some are created by corporations, some are accidents and some are spawned by the infinite nature of The Net.
Finally we have the superfuel of the future. It’s referred to as CHOOH2 in the demo and based on the history of Night City was developed by megacorporations to replace gasoline and diesel fuels as the leading combustible fuel.
